Has anyone ever dropped by this board who saw the Beatles in the Cavern or even Hamburg. There must be a lot of people who saw them. Surely some of them are as obsessive as we are!!!

Now that's an interesting thought - I don't remember ever hearing from anyone on a Beatles message-board or forum who made that claim. You're right, some of the audience members from those days must be somewhere, and not that prohibitively old if you think about it, they'd probably be somewhere in their 60's.

I remember buying a music mag at Border's in downtown Seattle circa Anthology days ('94-ish). Probably a Q or a Mojo with the Fabs on the cover. Anyway, the clerk who rang it up was probably a late 50's-early 60's woman with white hair and an English accent who claimed to have seen them at the Cavern back in the day. I was skeptical, because she said they called themselves "the quarrymen" when she saw them (don't think that ever happened at the Cavern), but I only had a minute or two to chat with her (busy lunchtime crowd). Still, it would've been interesting to try to verify her story a bit...

Next you're gonna tell me that this woman recorded the shows she went to, right? ;-)
Well, it's too bad I never got a chance to finish that conversation with her. Perhaps her story was real - it just sounded too unbelievable to be true to me - I tend to be rather skeptical...
