John Lennon was born on 9th Oct 1940, singer, songwriter, guitarist. The Beatles sold over 20m singles worldwide, (1962-1970), and scored more UK & US No.1 albums than any other group. Their 1967 'Sgt. Pepper's' is the UK's biggest selling album ever. In 1990 Lennon's song 'Imagine' was played simultaneously in 130 countries to commemorate what would've been Lennon's 50th birthday. He was shot dead in New York by Mark Chapman on 8th December 1980. Read more www.thisdayinmusic.com/pages/imagine

Happy birthday John Lennon! Gone but not forgotten! Let us all play at least one Lennon song(of our own choice) really loud today in John's honor! If it disturbs someone all the better because John was for peace but deep down he was always a Rock and Roller and sometimes this music upsets the squares!

*Happy Birthday* to Johnny Lennon who would have been 73 years old today...!

Performing in an L.A. at a promotional gig in a record store, Paul breaks into tears while performing his tribute to John called HERE TODAY. Typical of Paul's nature, instead of stopping or taking a break, he pushes through to entire song even though he's lost vocal control and emotional control. Another 'clue for you all' of how much he loved and still loves John......~ Mike Montana

No doubt if John was alive today he and Paul would have worked together again and they would have continued their brilliant streak. You can tell how much Paul misses John.
