Like the Mojo Nixon song, I'm constantly amazed how many time I go into a store or a restaurant and hear a Beatle song. I keep thinking, "They know I'm coming." What reminded me of this was I just got a DVD in the mail by Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, who play at Disneyland in the Golden Horseshoe Revue in Frontierland. One of the shows has ... a bluegrass Beatles medley. (They've never done that when we've seen 'em.... )

Agreed! Almost every time I go to the local grocery store these days I hear at least one Beatle song. Recently I was at the grocery store and heard two McCartney songs and two Harrison songs. I think it must be a conspiracy of some sort.

In the old board I wrote about Beatle sayings appearing frequently. For example, a caption seen under a photo of former NY Governor Spitzer and his "friend" said, "Can't Buy Me Love", and with some of McCain's supporters putting their feet in their mouths lately, a news tease said, " Senator John Mc Cain can do "with a little less help from his friends". These Beatle allusions come up a lot. I dig it.

Personally, I'm feeling the Beatles are less "everywhere" nowadays than they used to be, say in the '70s and '80s.

Just got back from the store. Didn't hear any Beatles this time but I did hear Elton John's 'Good-bye Yellow Brick Road'. I know, it doesn't count, just thought I'd mention it. And I got some Häagen-Dazs banana split ice cream. mmmmm...

As well as what you've listed Sayne there's quite a few others: here are some. The phrase "A Day in the Life" crops up frequently. "64" as in When I'm 64 is almost for some folk the age after which you're "old". "Eleanor Rigby" is frequently used to describe a lonely spinster. Mystery Tour was quite a common phrase before the Fabs, but their addition of "Magical" has stuck. Things like this, however, vary hugely between countries, cultures, and educational backgrounds.
