I can't believe you're the only person on this entire international Beatles message board who has commented on this historic video.
Tony Hicks is not only playing a very cool banjo, but there's a touching scene of him having a laugh with Dhani Harrison. The son of the Beatles' lead guitarist in a sweet moment with the lead guitarist of the Hollies. Dhani and Paul Hicks must have had several play dates growing up together in Henley, and Tony probably showed the boys how to play that cool intro to "The Air That I Breathe".
The soundtrack is probably cooler than the movie.

Wow. I just seen this thread. I didn't think I would be too interested with Tony Hicks. Sorry John.
I have thenewno2 album. I haven't listened to it really. It's on my Zune in a New Music playlist. There's about a 1000 songs on this and no2 hasn't come up much if at all.
I have Sean's latest soundtrack album on it too. He has had some songs that aren't your typical soundtrack music songs.
I've been meaning to listen to both of these straight through and give them proper respect.

It was very cool seeing Tony in Abbey Road with Dhani. Tony seems so serious playing that banjo thingie. I prefer young Tony to old but he is still the bomb!

I'm definitely going to listen to this album straight through.

The stuff they do is quite interesting. No evidence that they can do a great or even average pop song, but as artists, they are good. Neither can sing worth a shit, though. I've written this before, what's with Dhani, Sean, and James having these wimpy, thin, high, voices? They have good voices for background singing, but as lead singers? Nah. I think a Sean/Dhani collaboration would garner some really good stuff. I think it will happen, too, as a one off. They both seem to be on a sympathetic level. James, I'm not sure. He seems more of an outsider. I'm sure he played with the others as a boy, but he seems very insular, whereas the other two seem a bit more personable.

I agree that Sean and Dhani are doing interesting music. I really am impressed with Sean and I like his acoustic stuff where he tries to keep his voice in a lower register or at least it is not like some of his vocals on Into The Sun where his voice is so damn high and nasally! ChuckE said it sounded like Big Bird's voice from Sesame Street. I am slowly appreciating Dhani and the thenewno2 but man, some of their stuff can induce sleep in me. James, nah nothing I've heard from him strikes a chord with me. He is not bad at all and is a good musician as far as I can tell but it is bland, emotionaless stuff to me. I am a fan who would love to see the Beatle boys play together just once with Zak Starkey on drums. If they want to try and write and record music together great, but just one live show on television would be cool to me.
