Wow. I had the vinyl, but never saw the film. Somebody actually synced this with digital stereo.
One Beatle and two musicians who have performed on Beatle songs appear on the soundtrack. Name them!

Wow, thanks for posting this Mike! Like you I bought the vinyl boxset at a great discount rate back in the late 70's or very early 80's and I thought that it was a great treasure find! At the time it was about the best collection of Beatles covers anywhere.
Another film to watch late at night

As far what Beatle was involved, John came automatically in mind with Elton's LITSWD, and was right... Elton John - Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds Features John Lennon (under the pseudonym "Dr. Winston O'Boogie") on lead guitar & backing vocals.

On Beatles songs, Jeff Lynne? Correct-Lynne actually plays on Free As a Bird. The third is tricky as this person is a credited musician and not a featured singer.

I thought I saw Nicky Hopkins name somewhere. I was looking at the cd on amazon.com. That may be where I saw it.

I'm sure with all the extraneous strings and horns, there are some classical musicians that may have also sat in on some Beatles sessions, but I ain't got that kind of time. I realized watching some of the movie that I originally quite enjoyed the soundtrack, even with people like Leo Sayer. It didn't age too badly. The footage is...well interesting.
