Forthcoming book by Leslie Woodhead recounts The Beatles' (unwitting) contribution to undermining the communist regime. Woodhead, apparently, is the guy who made the Cavern Some Other Guy film for Johnny Hamp. The review mentions that young Russians, wanting to circulate The Beatles (banned) music, did so by cutting pirated songs recorded from other countries' radio onto flexidiscs made from used x-ray acetates, known as "records on bones." How cool!
