Okay, just fell asleep on the couch with the TV tuned into youtube and the Plastic Ono Band playing the complete concert. Fell asleep during John's performance of Yer Blues...only to be later awoken by a steady scream. It was Yoko's turn and it was absolutely horrible.
I'm sorry the Emperor is not wearing ANY CLOTHES. This was (Yoko's performance) and still is complete garbage.

Oddly, she has been on Jonathan Ross in the UK tonight, and they showed a clip of her performing in Berlin recently with the POB, doing the screamy thing. Still absolutely horrible. Nice interview though.

Nice interview though. I saw her during her last jaunt threw LA with the POB and it was actually quite good, in my opinion. When I was a kid, I didn't understand her screaming. I get it now. I hear her influences often. And, Sean was a very very good bass player.

So, vectis, any new info gleaned on the interview? Or nothing we haven't heard already?

I'll conceed that her "structured" music could have in fact influenced the likes of the B-52s, but my subconscious heard screams in my lucid sleep not art. And yes, all of the Beatle musician sons have great musical chops. Helps when you are blessed with wealth.

I'll conceed that her "structured" music could have in fact influenced the likes of the B-52s, but my subconscious heard screams in my lucid sleep not art . . . It's the screams and yelps I'm talking about, not the structured music aspect. Yes, the B-52s are the most obvious example, and it has nothing to do with the songs. It's the vocal "noise." Here are some examples of where I hear Yoko's influence, not during the whole song, but in spots: Yoko is all over that song. Around 1:25 mark Around :36 mark and beyond choruses With John Paul Jones Also, what's the difference between a guitarist like Hendrix or Jeff Beck making feedback bombastic noises with their guitars and a singer doing the same things with their voice. The voice is capable of a myriad of sounds. Not all of them have to be pleasant. As an artist, it's about feel. It's about expression. Sometimes, gutteral works. Sometimes a song needs to go from a whisper to a scream.
