Hey folks -- it's been well over a year but I got the itch to start up discussing different solo songs again. I am starting with this one, a new song from Paul's brand new album -- NEW. Listen to the song and cast your vote in the poll after:

I think I remember that we had to rate the song in the poll on the even number, but could "cheat" by bumping it up or down a half point in the comments. I'd go ahead and give it the three in the poll but just a two 1/2 in the comment. It a good song but a little too pop for me.

4 --- I have been raving about this song in the NEW thread. I think it's great... I get up and happy every time I hear it. It always puts me in a great mood. I love the way Paul's voice sounds, and the idea of him teasing playfully with his woman. This should have been the second single. I wish Paul would perform this live.

With this last listen, I just got your tagline. I hadn't put that together yet.

One of my personal favourites from the album and I believe, one of Paul's best rock songs of his post-Beatles career.
The lyrics may be simple, but they are coherent and effective. I like the connotation/innuendo of the song. A McCartney offering not about love, but sex. The line "what I'm going to do next I leave entirely to your imagination" is killer. Paul is apparently a randy old bastard. Good luck to him!
Musically, I love it. Paul's singing is good throughout. Nothing to complain about there. The opening instrumental passage is exciting and sets the scene for a legitimate hard-rock song from the first. Good hard-rock guitar and drums. The use of organ at several points fits well. The sparing employment of synthesizer, blaring in at 1:52, is both appropriate and tasteful. Then the song ends with a different and interesting turn. 4.

Not a bad song but i wouldn't rate it that highly in his overall catalogue.
I haven't listened to NEW for so long now i didn't know the song when i first read the topic but as soon as i played it i was well aware of it.
I voted it low.....

I like this, but I'd have to hear it much more than I have at this point to raise it to a 4. Catchy chorus, no doubt.
The funny thing is I've had a tough time getting into this album. My first impression is that the first 6 songs are very good, then when I get to "side 2", it seems like they alternate between good ones and "lesser" songs.
I still would stick with "New" and "Queenie Eye" as the best two songs on New, the Album. But this one, along with "Save Me", "Alligator", "Everybody Out There", and "Get Me Out of Here" are interesting. I'm less of a fan of most of the slower songs/ballads (at least, up until now).

It's OK, but there are a lot of better songs on the album. The chorus is catchy, but it takes a while to get there. I gave it a 2, but could have gone 2 1/2 if such a vote were available.
