Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are both among the nominees for the 51st Grammy Awards announced Wednesday night. Paul McCartney was nominated in two categories -- for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance with a live version of "That Was Me"and for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for a live version of "I Saw Her Standing There," both from the "Amoeba's Secret" four-track live vinyl-only recording of his Amoeba Records concert. Ringo's "Ringo 5.1 The Surround Sound Collection" was among six nominees for "Best Surround Sound Album." More details in Thursday's Beatle news updates.

Cool. Neither deserves to win for those specific entries.
Paul will deserve to win next year for Electric Arguments. Not this year though for those lame entries.
Ringo's nomination is, um, strictly sentimental. Not Grammy worthy in the least.

I actually think Macca's Amoeba 4 Track Vinyl Only is killer especially the Live Only Mama Knows. I think all the Tracks were Macca at his recent live best. It is highly recommended. So I guess they are far from lame to me. ;D

"That Was Me", is a killer vocal on that Amoeba vinal EP. Might stand a chance to win? Regards, Beatle Bob

Excuse my ignorance, but is this available for download? I understand that it's not on CD. How ridiculous is the situation that work that is Grammy nominated is not readily available to the public?

It's available. It's on Amazon. By the way, I, along with Ringo's press office, are trying to confirm this, but it appears Ringo's nomination was his first ever for his own solo work. He's been nominated several times, with the Beatles and with others, but never for his own work and not collaborations until this if my information is right.

I wonder if both Paul and Ringo will go to the Grammy Awards? Talk about a potential media frenzy!

I wonder if both Paul and Ringo will go to the Grammy Awards? Talk about a potential media frenzy! Ringo's too busy to attend, remember his "no more signed items" video.
