I've never noticed a similarity, mind you, i've never played one after the other.

At least there's nothing Bright about it.
It sounds a lot like On Top of Old Spaghetti too.
I think it's out of copyright. In public domain. Good thing he got it before Dylan did.

So just how does a meatball remnant turn into a tree?
That video made me want to projectile vomit, so gross!

Nowhere near as blatant as Screwball or Blackdog Blues.

Nowhere near as blatant as Screwball or Blackdog Blues. Lol... that's "STEWball", not "Screwball"! It's a song about a horse. Joan Baez did a nice version of it on her 5th album, which was around the time she met The Beatles. Who knows, maybe Lennon heard the song off her LP and 'subconsciously' recycled it about 7 years later?

But you only have one and a black dog's life ain't fun.... I'm a little surprised this was left off Anthology. John, Paul and George all sing on it, and the mix is pretty tight. But then again, there are over 50 "moments" like this through the month of January 1969 excluding full rehearsals of final cuts.

Thanks for the link! However, no one has answered my question: what song rips off Black Dog Blues (or vice versa)?
