Like Father (Jack) like Son...... This is sad, he needs help, if not he'll end up like his Dad....... Gee, for 63 he doesn't look to good (more like 73?)....He's a decade younger (being from the 1970's?), than Cliff (Richard), Ringo, or even Paul, and they run rings around him in youthfulness?

This is really sad. He looks terrible in that photo, and you can see the ravages of alcohol in his eyes -- at least I can. I see no relation between this image and the attractive sex symbol from The Partridge Family. Yup, David had better get his act together before it's too late.

I agree with Joe and RockoRoll that this is sad that David is having such a difficult time struggling with alcoholism. My prayers for him. I agree with RockoRoll that Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Cliff Richard look younger than David even though they are 8-10 years older than him.

David needs support from his fans because where the hell are his family and friends? Where is Shirley Jones?! Too busy writing books about the size of Jack Cassidy's penis and how she went down on a woman(or maybe it was the other way around). Nonetheless, act like a real step-mother Shirley and quit thinking about sex and save David! David is making Danny Bonaduce look normal! I for one am not going to let my childhood musical hero kill himself! I know I cannot do a lot but if David knows his fans care then maybe he will choose to live and get help. I plan to go to California in the very near future and sit outside his home(assuming he still has a home) until I am able to discuss this with him!

I grew up watching the Partridge Family too and I will keep David in my prayers. Any addiction is so difficult to beat. According to this report, David is in rehab again. msnvideo.msn.com/?channelindex=5&from=en-us_msnhp#/video/120da95f-c67f-42e2-aaef-efdf3b213f79

On a serious note, I don't mean to make light of Cassidy's problem and I sincerely hope that he seeks the help he needs and I along with Johnny wish him the best in his recovery and health.

Focus friends, focus! We are about to lose David I am afraid and he needs our love and support! I am encouraged by SallyG's link but David has done rehab before. I think it will take tough love from Shirley Jones and us fans to help David.
Why don't we all list here our favorite Partridge Family/David Cassidy moments, songs, etc. as a way to send good vibrations to David!
BTW, you weren't in the SLA in the 1970's, were you scousette(wondering myself now why she has mug shots).

I'm intrigued as to why you would have mug shots My first one was for the same reason as David here. This was back in the early '80s, right after Lennon was shot. I remember because I was in the backseat of the cop car singing Watching the Wheels. I laughed when I got to the "Sitting here doing time" line. This was back when it was common in our group to drive around during the day with a beer between your legs and before all of the talk about DUIs. It was also back when a judge would wave the charge based on your alcoholic level and previous record. I quit driving under the influence for well over ten years, but made the awful mistake a second time. I got to thinking that a lot of people go out and drink socially and never have an issue. You know, you pace yourself and you make sure you eat. This time I was filmed by the local news channel. I was pixelated for the ads that ran for a week or so but when the story ran, it showed my face. I apparently signed a waver that night. (Of course my judgment was impaired at the time.) The story was a week-long special titled "Still Drinking, Still Driving". In the story, I presented myself as the everyman who made a bad mistake. It could happen to you if you were not careful. I often refer to this as my public service special. At the end, they showed my mug shot, pitiful, pathetic as it was. Don't say I never share anything with you guys.

David needs support from his fans because where the hell are his family and friends? Hopefully, his family is giving David support. I haven't kept up with David's life in recent years. I knew he had a son named Beau but I didn't realize he had a daughter. Here's a picture of his daughter Katie Cassidy and his son Beau.

A third OWI in Indiana is a felony and really bad shit happens. Drunk driving is bad, causes many fatalities and heartbreak but the police focus on it to the exclusion of fighting violent crime. Why? First, they are easy arrests, often the defendant is of means to pay all of those costs and fines that finance extra deputy prosecutors and second, why would cops want to safeguard us from the violent criminals? Those bad guys shoot back! So the cops ignore them until after the fact and go after the "soft" drunk drivers with headlights out, or turn signals missing. Cops should spend as much time going after violent criminals as they do drunk drivers and then we would be a safer society.

David's lawyer says David will stay in rehab longer than ordered because he wants to beat this devil of alcoholism. I hope so.
The best cure for David is to finally embrace his PF musical legacy(if not the show cast itself) as there is a huge craving by aging PF fans to hear this music live but performed faithfully to the records. David is missing a huge opportunity and if he wins us back he might be surprised to learn we might support new music from him if in the Pop/Rock vein.
Renewed fame doesn't bring sobriety but it would give David a purpose in his life, just look how touring and recording has helped Ringo Starr stay sober. We PF fans are Legions strong. We would go to David's concerts if he performed the songs with the care Paul McCartney performs his songs. Too often David was sarcastic or changed the arrangements, either treating the songs like a joke or making them disco or dance oriented. That was a crap decision by him, fans don't like our memories dissed!
David needs a better haircut too. I hate that look in his mugshot.
We will support and wait for you David! We'll even meet you halfway, that's better than no way.

We posted four minutes apart(see my post above) as we are both thinking of David! What a beautiful sentiment Mike! Your post brought a smile to me, thank you. It is fresh in my brain. We had a benefit dinner for Katie's school Saturday and Kathy even allowed me to consume mass quantities of beer and wine! Anyway, an acoustic duo was performing and even without drums had all the 40 something to 60 something moms dancing away! They duo broke into I Think I Love You and the women all went wild (though a few of them stripping to their skivvies was not appropriate at a Catholic school function!)! The next day after I recovered from my 53 year old hangover (take an 18 year old hangover and multiply it by 53!) I pitched the song to my band as a must do.

Excellent choice for your band, Mike! I would do "I Think I Love You" and while the women are hot and bothered, immediately break into "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" as that rocks out!

No detail on your girl crush is too small! Even though I was an older teen when The Partridge Family show was on the air, I always liked Susan Dey. I thought she was cute. When she played Grace Van Owen on LA Law, I was thrilled. She was the main reason I watched that show. Well, until Jimmy Smits came along as Victor Sifuentes...
