Just support him and be in his corner Johnny. If you have an address you can write to David Cassidy I'd send him a letter and tell him that you're praying for him and hope he'll pull through.

Thanks Fred, good ideas. I was wondering if you had any connections to David through your Monkees channels. Same with Steve M. through his many connections. I stand ready, willing and able to help David pro bono should, God forbid, he get arrested in Indiana!

She was just cute. Someone whom teen aged girls could admire and fantasize being.

Praying for David to get it together is all fine and well. But in the meantime, let's also pray for the innocent victims he could potentially kill while driving and indulging in his weakness.
Maybe Ringo ought to talk to David and straighten him out... Look at the difference between these men today at their ages. I watched the clip of Cassidy talking about his condition and the guy looks drunk even there, due to the longtime ravages of booze. It IS sad and rather pathetic... this good looking sex symbol from the '70s now completely slurring his words and looking like he's one step from death's door. Just terrible.

This indeed is sad as I recall that Cassidy appeared in good health and spirits at the 2013 Monkees convention and at the Westbury Teen Idols concert with Micky Dolenz and Peter Noone just a few weeks later. I really hope he gets the help he needs.

Hey, how is our beloved David doing!? I Google News on David and get squat! McCartney is hogging all the headlines not with his music but his mystery illness!

Oh no! A plea bargain hearing suddenly ended when it was learned that David was at a horseracing track instead of in court for the hearing. David was allowed an absence because it was thought that his presence would pose a hardship but Prosecutors didn't feel sorry for David when a tweet proved he was off betting on horses the same time as the hearing! wonderwall.msn.com/tv/tweet-derails-cassidy-dwi-plea-deal-hearing-1829407.story

I would ask as a favor that all Board Members here write to the Prosecutor handling this case telling her/him how much David's music means to you and the happiness he has brought to all but himself. We stand behind you David, Godspeed!

Dear Mr. Cassidy: Stop drinking. That is all. Signed, A Ringo Starr Fan. I agree that recovery starts with David himself but it is not always as easy as simply saying, "Stop drinking." Ringo had lot's of help! We need to start by supporting David in this criminal case, convincing the D.A. and Judge to show compassion to a man who brought us such great music in the early 1970's. And we then need to show David that he is still important to us, that we still care about him as a musical artist. I get really emotional about this as David was my first musical idol.

Sorry, JSD... but I have zero tolerance for anyone who drinks and drives. No matter how much I did enjoy The Patridge Family as a youth. These irresponsible people could kill or cause serious injury to innocent people. I hope David gets his act together as others have, but in the meantime, I will not plead for any kind of leniency.

David should be punished but I don't want the book thrown at him. I want him to also receive alcohol treatment. David needs to work on a new album with great new material. Who knows, with the right songs he could be the next "oldie" to get a Billboard 200 #1 album!

When David gets through this, I wish he would assemble some hip young songwriters, some good musicians and find a good, sympathetic producer and make a real comeback album of great Pop Music!

"Free David Now"? I'm sorry, JSD... but David needs to do that himself. Has he stopped drinking all together yet? I hope so.
I read the link provided, and David said: "I admit I was driving drunk, but this was my first offense in New York state; I didn't hurt anyone or crash my car."
Oh, really? So that makes everything all right because the stars were in alignment that day and David did not kill any innocent person(s) while driving while under the influence?

So that makes everything all right because the stars were in alignment that day and David did not kill any innocent person(s) while driving while under the influence? I understand your point Joe and if I was David's lawyer I would tell him to shut his mouth and never complain publicly about a Judge before the sentence is handed down and when you know the Judge will read your remarks! Yet, we don't blast the Beatles for promoting drugs to expand our minds and drugs can kill as we know. I mean Paul now contradicts John and says "Lucy" was about LSD! I just think that David is being made an example of, like Mick and Keith were in 1967 at their infamous Redlands bust where George Harrison was rumored to be but ushered out by the police because the British Establishment hadn't declared war on The Beatles until Two Virgins.

I blast anyone who is involved with drugs (including even my late younger sister). But still, I don't believe the Beatles 'promoted' using drugs. And even if they did, it's different from what David Cassidy is doing getting behind the wheel of an automobile -- again and again. If The Beatles drove while under the influence too (and I'm pretty sure that happened, such as the story of George trying to drive to the club while on acid), I'd blast them just as well. So I'm not sure your statement has any merit to it.

No doubt even my dad finds Susan cute but when I saw pics of Jimmy, I found him handsome enough. I don’t know why these celebrities do blunders like drunk driving which can ruin their career and fan following. While working with a DUI lawyer, I had seen many similar instances.
