The partially live promo version is my favorite version of the song with the spirited backing vocals from Paul and George that kind of harken back to the girl group style backing vocals they did in the mania days. I think it was released only in video form on the Anthology DVD and VHS but not on CD. It should count as an official "take" since they recorded new vocals on top of the instrumental tracks.

I agree, Mark! I love this version best precisely because of the spirited involvement of Paul and George on those vocals. It is a very awesome video especially as restored on Anthology but damn-it, the filmmakers ruin it with that John "voice-over" during it.

This is one of my single, all-time favorite pieces of footage ever featuring The Beatles. It's really something I'd recommend for "street credit" with today's youth ... I think the Beatles look real cool and it's great to see them dressed like regular guys. John really looks angry and awesome as he plays that guitar during the music break in the middle!
However -- nothing's perfect, and for me I really wish that the "shoo-be-doo's" were not sung on this version. This is the fast. hard, rough, and "kewl" version... they didn't need the awkward 'doo wop, doo wop' thing by this one.

I love this version too. Combines the best of the single version with the few good parts of the WHITE ALBUM version.
