Seeing the Bee Gees in Concord tonight. Should be fun. I meant Barry Gibb, but you knew that.

We won't hold this against you Steve! As an esteemed Beatles scholar, you probably got the ticket for free, right? Please say yes!! I do hate the Bee Gees though for their Disco period.

I do hate the Bee Gees though for their Disco period. I grew up only knowing of the Bee Gees in their Disco period. Must admit, I kinda like them that way and can't relate to them pre-Disco!

Their best stuff IMO was 1966-74. As a young teen I always thought Lonely Days was part of side 2 on Abbey Road. Even pre-disco stuff like Jive Talkin was not bad for typical 70s AM gold.

John, actually we paid for these. My wife is a Bee Gees fan (we saw them in '89 on the One for All tour) and initially turned down my suggestion to go. But a relative offered us two extra tickets and we jumped on it.

I love "Jive Talkin'" and like Mike view it pre-Disco, maybe good Boogie music. It has cowbell! I like older Bee Gees for sure.
The BG's were approached by Satan himself for the SNF soundtrack. Old Scratch made them sign in blood: that explains the premature deaths in the family and most importantly the crap film of all time SPLHCB!

Parts of it are definitely sucky, but some of the singing is great, especially near the beginning. Robin Gibb's version of "Oh, Darling" is wonderful. Speaking of which, one of the best parts of the Barry Gibb show was "I Started a Joke." Barry started the song and I thought, "Oh, no." Then, on the screen, Robin came in and did the rest of the song. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.
