So we had the tournament to determine what were George's best videos. In several cases people commented that they liked a certain song more even though they picked the other as a better video.
So that got me to thinking.
What are George's best songs?
I'm putting them into 3 categories: Best songs with Beatles Best solo hit singles Best solo album tracks
It is up to you whether to include Wilbury's songs. Personally I'll include songs that are primarily George, but not those where he is not clearly the major congtributor.
GEORGE WITH THE BEATLES: 1. Here Comes The Sun 2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 3. Taxman 4. Something 5. If I Needed Someone 6. The Inner Light 7. Piggies 8. Only A Northern Song 9. Don't Bother Me 10. I Need You
BEST SOLO HIT SINGLES: 1. Give Me Love 2. What Is Life 3. My Sweet Lord 4. When We Was Fab 5. Crackerbox Palace 6. Handle With Care 7. Blow Away 8. Got My Mind Set On You 9. You 10. All Those Years Ago
BEST SOLO ALBUM TRACKS: 1. All Things Must Pass 2. Run Of The Mill 3. Your Love Is Forever 4. Beware Of Darkness 5. Don't Let Me Wait Too Long 6. Devil's Radio 7. Beautiful Girl 8. Faster 9. Love Comes To Everyone 10. Any Road

I like your three lists. I am not good about compiling such lists but mine would not look much different than yours.
I'd bump "Only A Northern Song" for "It's All Too Much" if the we're talking the YS Songtrack version.
For album tracks, I cannot live without "Rising Sun," "Stuck Inside A Cloud," "Apple Scruffs" and "Be Here Now." I'd thus replace your # 6,7,8 & 9.
George took a lot of shit from music critics and suffered from a lot of indifference from Beatles fans as to his solo career but in hindsight it was a beautiful body of work as a whole.

Just play me the Concert for George.
Brilliant set list.
Not 100% sure the other 3 could top it..

Sorry it took so long, coachbk.
MY FAVOURITES
BEST SONGS WITH THE BEATLES
1. Something 2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 3. Here Comes The Sun 4. Taxman 5. I Need You 6. Old Brown Shoe 7. Savoy Truffle 8. If I Needed Someone 9. It’s All Too Much 10. I Me Mine
The division of George’s solo songs into “hit singles” and “album tracks” lists has complicated things a little for me. Some songs were singles in some countries and not others. For example, Isn’t It A Pity was a double A-side with My Sweet Lord in the U.S., but an album track in U.K. What Is Life was only a B-side to My Sweet Lord in the U.K. Does that mean it should qualify as a “hit single,” since the physical product did go to #1? What is a hit single: a top 10, top 40, top 100?
BEST SOLO HIT SONGS
I’ve gone for whatever songs were A-sides on singles making the top 40 in either the U.K., or U.S. I’ve included Traveling Wilburys material.
1. My Sweet Lord 2. What Is Life 3. Isn’t It A Pity 4. Blow Away 5. When We Was Fab 6. Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) 7. You 8. Crackerbox Palace 9. This Song 10. Handle With Care
BEST SOLO ALBUM TRACKS
I’ve included songs not featured as A-sides on singles either in the U.K., or U.S.
1. That’s What It Takes 2. Rising Sun 3. Art Of Dying 4. Run Of The Mill 5. Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll) 6. Stuck Inside A Cloud 7. Be Here Now 8. Marwa Blues 9. Beware Of Darkness 10. Horse To The Water
A simpler combined list of my favourite solo songs, whether singles or album tracks, might look like this:
BEST SOLO SONGS
1. My Sweet Lord 2. What Is Life 3. Isn’t It A Pity 4. Blow Away 5. That’s What It Takes 6. Rising Sun 7. Art Of Dying 8. Run Of The Mill 9. When We Was Fab 10. Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)

"Be Here Now" and "Apple Scruffs" were two of the "final cuts" for my album tracks list. "Rising Sun" and "Stuck Inside A Cloud" are pretty good too! I did consider "It's All Too Much" for the George top 10 as well. And I agree the YS Soundtrack version is superior. I also strongly considered "Not Guilty" for my Beatles top 10. Leaving that off THE WHITE ALBUM is perhaps the biggest example of the slighting of George.

George's best Beatles songs: Long Long Long - sublime: George's best Beatles song by a comfortable margin I Need You - brilliant mainstream pop Here Comes The Sun - captures sunlight Taxman - cynicism harnessed constructively, excellent group performance Old Brown Shoe - the best of George's musically quirky songs The Inner Light - the best of George's Indian flavoured songs Something - musically and lyrically a little gauche, but a stellar arrangement and group performance Piggies - more constructive cynicism, and a great arrangement For You Blue - not many 12-bars from the boys, and this is a good one Within You Without You - slow-burning brilliance
Solo tracks: Be Here Now Awaiting On You All Cloud Nine Party Seacombe Deep Blue Fish On The Sand Don't Let Me Wait Too Long Apple Scruffs That Is All Breath Away From Heaven
Singles: Got My Mind Set On You All Those Years Ago What Is Life Handle With Care Dream Away Give Me Love You This Is Love I wouldn't include any of the other singles in a top 10 list.

Long Long Long is vastly improved in the re-masters. On the original album it is done so softly it is barely noticeable. I always considered it a weak track. I would hardly go to the extreme Vectis has in singing its praises, but the re-mastered version has shown me that it is a good song.

I always liked the song, but I agree, the remaster has done it new justice. I have not had time to put together lists, but I enjoy most of George's Beatle material except Within You Without You (like Love You Too, love the Inner Light-so it is not an Indian theme thing). You Know What to Do was a pleasant surprise on Anthology, but a clunker. Don't Bother Me has sort of a "Secret Agent Man " theme. All Things Must Pass is majestic, but would have been equally amazing closing out Abbey Road (after The End fades away).
