Access Hollywood had a story of Rick Rubin's interview with Paul McCartney airing July 16, on HULU, from it's June 26th show. Come Together, Michelle, Live and Let Die are spot-lighted. "We realized we were writing songs that were memorable, not 'cause we wanted them to be memorable, but because we had to remember them".

Six hours? Averaged out, first hour 1960 - 1970. Second hour 1970 - 1980. Third hour 1980 - 1990. Fourth 1990 - 2000. Fifth 2000 - 2010. Final hour 2010 - 2020. Right?

I think the Get Back film will be six hours better spent unless Jackson does in fact include LOTR style wizard and Orc battle scenes as threatened!

Big promo on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! special tonight. "Tomorrow on GMA. Paul McCartney. It's the documentary event everyone will be talking about. Paul: "One of the greatest moments in my life." Tomorrow, only on ABC's Good Morning America!"
It's a story on the Rick Ruben interview.

This one falls in the long, wide stretch on whether it is a legitimate Beatles' story or not.
Diana Dors, attendee at the Sgt Pepper's cover show, starred in an Alfred Hitchcock Presents, called the Sorcerer's Apprentice, in which she is sawed in half by the title character, played by Brandon De Wilde. This is the only Hitchcock show not aired in the regular season's run because it was too violent. It was also the last show of the half hour series.
While on the set of the Beatles' movie Help, Brandon De Wilde was there as Paul McCartney wrote the song Wait. De Wilde was later killed, driving his camper van into a parked truck. No word on whether he was distracted by an attractive meter maid or not. Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris wrote a song about De Wilde's long drive in the night called In My Hour of Darkness.

Was that Hitchcock episode ever shown or has it languished "in the can" all of these years? What was De Wilde's connection to the Pop Stars who wrote a song about him whose title sounds like it came from Paul's "Let It Be!" Damn Deb, that anecdote is a long and winding road but I love it!

The episode was put back into rotation when Hitchcock went into syndication. I guess they left it to the local broadcaster's on whether to show it or not. It doesn't seem that bad to me. De Wilde was a friend of Parson's. Parsons and his International Submarine Band backed De Wilde on an album he was recording.

From Entertainment Tonight Last Night; and interview with Ryan Tedder.
"But Ryan's most memorable collaboration moment came in the studio with Sir Paul McCartney."
"I kind of hear something behind me and I turn and I look around. He is upside down, inverted completely, straight as a matchstick. On his elbows. And he held an inverted yoga pose with his feet straight in the air for five minutes. He drops back down (in a Paul imitation) "Oh, that was a nice one. I feel so much better." I couldn't do it just for five seconds"

The Beatles Let it Be release has been all over TV. All the morning news shows, the Entertainment Tonight type shows. And the subsequent Get Back promo release tied in perfect.
Access Hollywood did a spot on the 50th anniversary of the Imagine album. They show scenes from Imagine: John Lennon, available on digital. Simon Cowell says Imagine would had been a bigger hit if it had come out today.

My 87 year old mother commented on that and then smugly informed me that it was John Lennon who left The Beatles first not Paul.

60 Minutes has a story on Sunday about the Beatles. Seems there is some long unseen video of the Beatles rehearsing for Let it Be.

I keep seeing stories on ET, Extra..., with Paul's visit to Mary McCartney's cooking show on Discover+, Mary McCartney Serves It Up. I've seen her making drinks, a bloody Mary with Billy Bush, a MaCarita (a margarita) with Paul (she had to text Paul twice to get him on the show), and a dip with Oprah. Oprah and Mary had drinks with strawberries in them which I am pretty sure I saw them being made on another show. "Mary guides her A-List guests through all her favorite recipes. The twist? Everything is meatless."

Good Morning America had a spot on Get Back this morning, some six weeks after it's release. Binge watching over the holidays. Eva Pilgrim was "watching quite a bit" while out on maternity leave. "This docu-series on Disney+ offers just an unparalleled peek at Paul, John, Ringo and George as they put together their iconic album, Let it Be. And I feel like we learned so much on how the group interacted watching the series."

Julian Lennon will be on CBS Mornings tomorrow, no doubt talking about offering Beatles memorabilia as NFTs. I just don't get this NFT thing. So, Julian keeps the actual object, say a jacket. Takes a digital picture of it and sells that digital image to someone. Now, that someone has a digital photo of a jacket that someone else actually owns. How is that of any value? Plus, since it's digital, if that person were to post their photo and someone else takes a digital photo of it, you now have 2 digital photos. I don't think you can tell the difference. But, even so, how is a photo of an object worth anything?

But, even so, how is a photo of an object worth anything? I guess you can print a nice glossy photo of it. You probably get an email saying you bought it. You can maybe put that in the back of the frame. When the technology catches up, you should be able to display a 3-d hologram of it.

Ringo was in good spirits and kind of funny. It was a rather lightweight appearance, promoting that book.
I notice Ringo is shaking hands again! Even before the pandemic, Ringo was a germ-phobe and would not shake-hands but elbow bump! At least with non-family like Kimmel but lately, and during a pandemic, I have noticed Ringo shaking hands and hugging these show-biz types.
Just don't ask Ringo for an autograph!

Maybe Ringo was trying to make sure Kimmel 'Lifted' the book to promote it. Ringo can schmooze when he needs to.

I was watching The News with Shepard Smith tonight, that's CNBC's prime time news edition, and reporter Sahil Kapur, I guess, working from home, had a wall full of mounted Beatles CDs. He had all of the regular issued albums plus the first BBC Collection, Anthology 1, 2, and 3, YS Songbook, Beatles 1, and Naked. He had an acoustic guitar propped up in front of it.

Michael Buble was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight. He told the story of how Paul McCartney's manager approached him about recording My Valentine. Michael asked back if Paul might produce it. He got a call back from Paul saying "Hi, it's Paul Mac!" He says with a laugh, "And I panicked. I swear to god I said "It's Micky Boobs"."
Paul told Michael the story of writing My Valentine. It was raining and Paul told Nancy "Who cares. We have each other."
"We met in New York and he's incredible. Thank God I hadn't..., didn't watch the Let it Be documentary. Because I was already nervous." "Well, I watched it after..."

Actor, rapper, comedy writer Donald Glover was on Jimmy Kimmel last night. Kimmel asked him about his animated conversation with Quinton Brunson on the Shop about who was the bigger influence, Notorious BIG or the Beatles.
"It got very heated. I'm sorry. I don't know. It was weird because I don't think anybody really cared. It was just like barber shop talk. And I have to be honest, I didn't listen, I got really into the Beatles maybe, I'm being serious, about a year ago. I was like "These guys got hits! These guys are really really good!" I was listening to like Let it Be, I was like "this is...", and they didn't even like making that album."
Kimmel asked "Did you watch the documentary?"
"Yeah. All 20,000 hours! I loved it. It was really good!"
