Yes, this is something of a plug, lol. My other musical obsession besides The Beatles is actually Fleetwood Mac, and I force the 1973 album 'Buckingham Nicks' on anyone who will listen. Anyway, this past month I've been creating a website and it's finally live, though definitely a work in progress. Thought I might as well link to it here. www.buckinghamnicks.info/And if you have somehow managed NOT to listen to Buckingham Nicks - the album - please do yourself a favour and do. www.buckinghamnicks.info/buckinghamnicks/

I used to have this album on pre-recorded cassette. I sold it over twenty years ago and of course haven't managed to replace it since.

Bummer! I'm still hankering after a re-issue (or for them to finally put it out on CD) but at the rate they come to agreements on things, and their belief in timing and cycles and so forth, we still have quite a wait for us, lol. Did end up getting the record but only an Australian bootleg version - looks pretty nifty, though, green vinyl and all.

I never got the Buckingham Nicks album. I did go back and get all the pre-Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac CDs. Well, don't think I got all of them, but I got a bunch of them.
I'll have to get this one. Did they just have the one. I've bookmarked your site. I have to look it over.

Just the one, yep, though they've talked about doing another. They were working on the second one when they got the call to join Fleetwood Mac. Songs like Rhiannon and Monday Morning had already been played by them with their band as Buckingham Nicks before they became part of FM.

I put the headphones on when I realized the tracks for the album were playing on your site. It was on Crystal. I'm like, I know that song! This is a good version. I started it over with the first song and I liked it quite a bit too. If you may have guessed, it doesn't take a lot to talk me into buying a CD.
I went to amazon.com. Let's see, vinyl, vinyl, ah yes. CD. $199.00. What?
I've been eying a 3 disc box set of the Monkees first disc at $59.98. I'm thinking that's pretty pricey. Buckingham Nicks at $199 make that sound more reasonable. Let me know if it gets a re-release.
The other thread makes me want to list the Fleetwood Mac albums I have: The Dance Fleetwood Mac (the original pre-Buckingham/Nicks album) Fleetwood Mac [Expanded] Men of the World (3 discs) Mirage (CD and LP) Mr Wonderful Pious Bird of Good Omen Rumours [Deluxe 3 discs] Say You Will Tusk [Expanded 2 discs]

There has NEVER been a CD release. The original vinyl was released in 1973, with a re-release in 1976. Stevie and Lindsey own the rights to it. There are plenty of good vinyl rips online, however, which is where I got my mp3 version for my iPod. Otherwise, the record itself isn't too difficult to pick up on eBay.
I will go intro raptures if it ever gets re-released, so you'll hear about it. Good choices on albums, by the way, especially that you have Say You Will, which often gets forgotten about. For the mid-period Mac albums, Bare Trees is also very lovely. Tango In The Night, while very eighties sounding, has some cracking tracks, too.

I actually still have the vinyl. Good stuff.
As a Fleetwood Mac geek, do you go back to the very beginning when they were a purely blues band or are you like most people who really only consider the Nicks/Buckingham (or MAYBE the Bob Welsh) version of the band to be THE band?

No, I consider all periods to be 'true' and 'real', and I have listened to them all. However, though I like a few songs, the Peter Green era just really doesn't interest me very much. I'm just not a blues fan, with only a few exceptions.

I'm not much of a blues person either. I got the 3 disc Man of the World best of the early years set. It had the big hit from that era that I always loved, Oh Well, and the original version of Black Magic Woman.
These songs rocked.

The interesting thing is that it was billed at the "real" Fleetwood Mac. As you know, there were two Fleetwood Macs touring since a one-time manager claimed to own the name and put together a band.

Oh, nice one! Yeah, I'm familiar with that story. Rough going. They definitely have an interesting history, even disregarding the most well-known, commercially successful period of the band.
