If not then if the estate of George see's this.. please release it.. It's already "finished", just not released. That being said, I wouldn't mind Paul and Ringo taking a crack at it, but to put things in perspective, it has now been 20 years since the Anthology sessions. Wow. Just wow. Time to pop some Geritol and I'm 15 years younger than these guys...

It's released. It's a bonus track on Somewhere in England on iTunes.
I have it on The Lost Tapes: Through All Those Years.

John wouldn't be on it..when they were together back in the 60's they recorded songs that didn't feature other band members and it was still called the Beatles..

About a month ago I wanted to do a list of Beatles and Solos Beatles available only on iTunes and this song was one of them I had once thought of. I didn't remember it that day though. That might be a good Thread topic, compiling a list of such iTunes only material.

Not too sure what if anything George actually played on Now and Then, but Paul does say in a recent filmed video clip (shown here I believe) that he still hopes to finish off Now and Then with Jeff.

What is holding him back? Olivia & Dhani? He's not getting any younger.

John wouldn't be on it..when they were together back in the 60's they recorded songs that didn't feature other band members and it was still called the Beatles.. But once John was gone, the others seem to say nothing else would ever come out as a Beatles track without John on it. Hence FAAB & RL. If Paul & Ringo decided to add to that song of George's, I don't think they would call it a Beatles track. And for that very reason I don't think they will ever work on it. "Now & Then" is a different story, if George is already on the takes from the 90's. I still am hanging on to the dream that "Now & Then" is already complete, and has been designated not to be released until the last Beatle passes away. Then it will come out posthumously, and The Beatles will top the charts once more under those conditions and pull off another "first ever."

They could just add a loop of John repeating the "Two of them were flying and two weren't" or whatever he said about the Pepper cover.

If Wikipedia is correct:
"Rather than this [i.e., the iTunes release] being the rendition of 'Flying Hour' that Harrison had intended for release on Somewhere in England, however, it is the version that appeared on the EP accompanying the rare 1988 book 'Songs by George Harrison'. With a running time of 4:35, this slower version begins with a studio count-in, is longer, lacks and adds guitar riffs, fades slightly at the end, and plays at the correct speed."

Man, I hate the sound of that synthesized "horn" sound. So cheesy. Shudda put on real sax.
