Here's another Beatle concert that should be available on DVD but, for whatever reason, is not. They could remaster the footage and maybe the sound, add in some commentaries and extras. Turn it into a dynamite DVD package that would sell like hot cakes.
I recorded 'The Beatles At Shea' off of cable on VHS about 20 years ago. I think it was on WTTW PBS. It's a shame stuff like this isn't available to Beatle fans today.

I don't think i've seen the Shea concert in full but i've definitely seen parts of it......
I would hope that one day soon Apple will get some of this product out there ,at least before the Beatles generation is infirmed and incontinent....

Search out the Darthdisc label bootleg of the Shea concert that is mastered from ABC - TV's broadcast video master. It has the best color and sound representation to date and is nearly as good as the ANTHOLOGY remastered clips. Includes color bars, commercial breaks (blank) and at end of concert a commercial for "The Invaders" TV show. Well worth searching out! Regards, Beatle Bob

I have it from a good source that SHEA was remastered and prepared for DVD release back in 1995, at the same time the clips were being restored for use in the Anthology. The release was put on hold at that time so as not to compete with the Anthology marketing juggernaut and has never been reactivated, despite being pretty much ready to go for well over a decade now. {sigh}
FWIW, a pretty extensive restoration of LET IT BE was done at the same time as well. It's collecting dust too, despite the obvious and logical release point that came and went a few years ago in conjunction with the LIBN disc.
Rumor has it that someone in the Fab camp itself is the holdup on the LET IT BE DVD. No idea what the issue might be with Shea, though. I do live in hope that quality legit versions of these things will be released before I'm too old/deaf/blind/broke/senile to purchase and/or enjoy them.

I'm with you, Big K. It's incredibly frustrating when you consider the material is there, the market is there, the media source (DVD) is in place..all that's left is packaging, kick it out the door and cash in before first generation Beatle fans are too old to enjoy it. Makes no sense to me.

Those are incredible, thanks OldFred. I didn't scroll down far enough when you first posted this! As much as I hate Shea, I enjoyed looking at the baseball photos too. As to the concert photos, there is a cool bedsheet sign that says it all: LENNON RULESHad I been at Shea that humid summer night in 1965, I would have hung my own beedsheet sign: Lennon > McCartney

[shakes head regretfully] What? As a man am I not allowed to declare my teenage-like crush on John? I, like the kids who posted the bedsheet at Shea, just want to help balance the scales on fan adulation.

Until the "canned" Shea comes out, THIS IS IT!!

Nice pictures of Shea. Is it just me, or was it ridiculous to have the stage on 2nd base for the Beatles and Grand Funk shows? The best seat in the house was in the next county.
