Oxtango has remastered the Esher Tapes and is re-releasing them in mid-October. Here is a You-tube clip about it. As a previous customer, I received an e-mail with 20 minutes of clips of the new remasters. Nice sound quality.

Interesting, but now knowing there is better quality recordings of these out there I would wish Apple put them out.

It is interesting, even though this is my least favourite Beatles album, in any form.
George Martin was a real Beatles expert and he wasn't that keen on this album either.

But neither did your bringing up George Martin to somehow "validate" your bizarre lack of appreciation for The White Album.

I think Apple is more interested in releasing products for the general music audience at large. The Esher tapes are really only for hardcore fans. No matter how good they sound.

I don't think my opinion is bizarre and George Martin is on record as saying he wasn't keen on the White album as released.

My ranking of the Beatles' albums changes from time to time. Right now, Let it Be is probably on top. I've been watching the new videos out now.
Let it Be's strength is the live feel, guitars, bass and drums. It's a mix of electric and acoustic guitars playing together. To me, most of the White Album has that same feel, other than the spooky bits here and there on the White Album and, of course, the Long and Winding Road on Let it Be, they both have little post production. I don't hear the solo artist aspect on the White Album.
It seems to me, if you liked Let it Be, you'd like the White Album.

I won't do business with Oxtango since the time it reamed me by charging my credit card account the moment I ordered the Get Back release but the album got held up for months. Those pirates had my money and kept making excuses why I couldn't have my album I paid for! Reputable companies charge your account only when they ship the product. Not the crooks from Oxtango. I know I'll be swamped with all the happy Oxtango customers here but I don't give a shit and am saying I almost got screwed by them until I disputed the charge and won.

I had a similar problem with the recent purchase of a power tool. The Australian company concerned charged my account before shipping. I sent them an email complaint and to their credit they did apologise and eventually delivered the product. It did take a lot longer than expected to get the thing though and they had obviously sold an item they did not actually have in stock. I doubt if I will be using their services again. On the other hand, I would like to get my hands on some of that Oxtango stuff. It really looks appealing. I wonder if I will weaken?

I ordered the Tug of War/Pipes of Peace deluxe sets through Paul's website. They use Kings Road Merchandise. They deducted my payment at the time of the order. I had the money penciled in my budget in October. Lucky I had the money.
