According to the article linked below, artist catalog music outsold new releases in 2015. I think it shows that when kids today really figure out that there is music that is actually good, they will listen to it instead of what's being fed to them. My take on today's youth's buying music is they buy music like trading cards. If their buddies buy a new album (or single) they buy it. They listen to a few tracks, skipping through it more than listen, say it's good and then go back to ignoring the radio. Now that streaming is becoming more popular, they have the opportunity to listen to whatever they like. They are finding good stuff. This is promising to me. AandR agents/producers take a good band and try to make them sound like what they think is hot today (the same sound that they have put out for the last 20 years). Now they will be forced to change this model and go back to giving true artists their space to produce good music. www.theverge.com/2016/1/22/10816404/2015-album-sales-trends-vinyl-catalog-streaming
