On The anthology I noticed something strange they didn't show or discuss the Beatle cartoon series (other than when George was saying how they all fell out of the car when meeting Elvis)is it because they are embarrassed of it or is it because they don't own the rights to them? any thoughts?

They do have the rights to them. They've marketed the hell out of the images. But they can't stand the cartoons themselves. Not sure if it's political incorrectness or what. Personally, I think they're cute and signify the era they were made in. For now, though, they aren't releasing them.

You can watch the series on YouTube. I'd love to see a restored box set of the cartoons released on DVD/BR, but it doesn't seem like it is going to happen any time soon. I remember watching them on TV as a kid. They were probably my first introduction to a number of the Beatles songs, as we did not have any of their records in the house at that time.

Yeah, I am one of those persons who remembers the cartoon series better than I remember the actual band in the 1960's because of my age back then and lack of older siblings who could have turned me onto the records.
I liked the series well enough although as a child I might have tuned out on the music sequences and was more interested in the zany adventures the cartoon Beatles got in!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it's because the cartoons have, effectively, F all to do with the Beatles' story. They are a minor shoot on an insignificant branch of the tree that can't even be seen from the many, many countries they were never seen in.
