This is my attempt at 67 completely different songs than are on PURE MCCARTNEY: 1. Hot As Sun 2. Oo You 3. Oh Woman Oh Why 4. Monkberry Moon Delight 5. Ram On 6. Eat At Home 7. Smile Away 8. Tomorrow 9. Mumbo 10. Some People Never Know 11. C Moon 12. Little Lamb Dragonfly 13. Single Pigeon 14. Only One More Kiss 15. The Mess (live) 16. Helen Wheels 17. Country Dreamer 18. Bluebird 19. Mamunia 20. Picasso's Last Words 21. Sally G 22. Letting Go 23. You Gave Me The Answer 24. Magnetto And Titanium Man (Live) 25. Beware My Love 26. San Ferry Anne 27. Girls School 28. London Town 29. Cafe On The Left Bank 30. I'm Carrying 31. I've Had Enough 32. Name And Address 33. Daytime Nighttime Suffering 34. Winter Rose/Love Awake 35. Getting Closer 36. Old Siam Sir 37. One Of These Days 38. Tug Of War 39. Ballroom Dancing 40. Take It Away 41. I'll Give You A Ring 42. The Man 43. Through Our Love 44. The Other Me 45. Not Such A Bad Boy 46. Only Love Remains 47. Once Upon A Long Ago 48. My Brave Face 49. This One 50. Put It There 51. You Want Her Too 52. Hope Of Deliverance 53. Get Out Of My Way 54. Somedays 55. Young Boy 56. No Other Baby 57. Brown Eyed Handsome Man 58. Lonely Road 59. From A Lover To A Friend 60. Anyway 61. Riding To Vanity Fair 62. Ever Present Past 63. That Was Me 64. The End Of The End 65. Sun Is Shining 66. Dance Til We're High 67. On My Way To Work
I actually don't think this list is better than PURE MCCARTNEY because in several cases (MCCARTNEY, RAM, BAND ON THE RUN, CHAOS AND CREATION, NEW) Paul already had my three favorites (or more) from the album on his list. But there are a few albums I like my choices better for sure (WILD LIFE, RED ROSE SPEEDWAY, OFF THE GROUND) and a few more where I think Paul missed some key tracks (LONDON TOWN, TUG OF WAR, PIPES OF PEACE, MEMORY ALMOST FULL) Plus I did include songs from FLOWERS IN THE DIRT, RUN DEVIL RUN, and DRIVING RAIN. And I like the B sides I included. The only album I don't have anything from is KISSES FROM THE BOTTOM because the only song I know is My Valentine and Paul included that. Nevertheless I would probably replace 1/3 of what Paul chose with things from my list if I were making the PURE MCCARTNEY album!

I like your list better, coach.
I'd go with Ac-cent-u-ate the Positive and the alt Baby's Request from Kisses.

Great list Coach! You prove per The Sayne Challenge that Paul easily could have had an 8 CD comp of 134 songs! But I must argue that there can be no covers because that is not Pure McCartney and in this second comp, Purer McCartney! If the name of the album was anything but Pure McCartney, I would have added "Love Is Strange" from WWL as that and "Stand By Me" by John are the best covers by solo Beatles. Oh and "Nobody's Baby." But they are not pure McCartney and even Paul in 2016 doesn't have the audacity to claim them now as his compositions! That is reserved for just Lennon/McCartney or McCartney/Laine songs!

I would omit The End of The End and put Mr Bellamy and/or Feet in the Clouds instead. I like See Your Sunshine from MAF. I also like Distractions from FITD. Paul has so many great songs that it's difficult to choose.

I didn't think about the covers. But I did decide not to put songs not sung by Paul. Otherwise Deliver Your Children and Must Do Something About It would make the cut. Also Time To Hide which was neither sung nor written by Paul (so that wouldn't even be "semi-pure McCartney").

I decided I would do a (semi) scientific comparison of PURE MCCARTNEY vs. my own collection. There are 10 points available for each album (plus one for non album singles and another for B sides). MCCARTNEY: Paul picked the three best songs. I took two others that aren't as good. (PM-10, BK-0) RAM: Again Paul picked the best songs, but RAM is so good he could have picked even more songs. (PM-8, BK-2) WILD LIFE: Paul picked his worst song ever. I picked the best 3. (PM-0, BK-10) RED ROSE SPEEDWAY: Paul picked the hit and ONE OTHER. The 3 I picked are better than his other (PM-3, BK-7) BAND ON THE RUN: Paul picked the best songs. Those I added have some worth too (PM-9, BK-1) VENUS AND MARS: Paul nabbed the two big hits, but I got the best of the rest (PM-5, BK-5) SPEED OF SOUND: Paul got 3 of the 4 songs that belong. I took the other (PM-8, BK-2) LONDON TOWN: Paul took the best song, the big hit, and one of the worst songs. I took 5 good songs (PM-3, BK-7) BACK TO THE EGG: Paul took one hit and the best song. I took the other hit and 2 good songs (PM-6, BK-4) MCCARTNEY II: Paul took the hit, other single, and experimental crap. I took the best song (PM-4, BK-6) TUG OF WAR: Paul took 3 good songs, but so did I. (PM-5, BK-5) PIPES OF PEACE: Paul took the best song and biggest hit. I took 3 good songs. (PM-6, BK-4) BROADSTREET: Paul took the best song/hit. I took one of the others (PM-8, BK-2) PRESS TO PLAY: Paul took the hit and one other. I took the best song. (PM-4, BK-6) FLOWERS IN THE DIRT: Paul took nothing. I took 3 great songs and one other (PM-0, BK-10) OFF THE GROUND: Paul took one unmemorable song. I took a great single and one other (PM-1, BK-9) FLAMING PIE: Paul took a lot from this album, but left out two good ones that I took (PM-7, BK-3) RUN DEVIL RUN: Paul took none, I took 2. Could argue there was no need to take any (PM-1, BK-9) DRIVING RAIN: Paul took none, I took 2. Could argue there was no need to take any (PM-1, BK-9) CHAOS AND CREATION: Paul took the 4 best songs. I took 2 others that aren't as good (PM-10, BK-0) MEMORY ALMOST FULL: Paul took 2 good songs. I took 3 good songs. (PM-4, BK-6) ELECTRIC ARGUMENTS: Paul took the best song. I took the next 2 best. (PM-7, BK-3) KISSES FROM THE BOTTOM: Paul took the best song. I took nothing. Could argue this was OK. (PM-9, BK-1) NEW: Paul took the 4 songs that belong plus another. I took one of the others. (PM-9, BK-1) NON ALBUM SINGLES: Paul got most of them, but I got a couple he missed (PM-9, BK-1) B SIDES, etc.: Paul neglected these. I got a bunch of good ones. (PM-0, BK-10)
TOTAL: PURE MCCARTNEY: 136 COACH BK: 124
But seeing as Paul had "first pick" I don't think I did too badly!

Paul chose Girlfriend because people know the Michael Jackson cover. I actually think this was one of the better calls. I like Wing's version. It's a good song.

"Girlfriend" isn't the worst (that is "Children Children"). It isn't even a bad song. Parts of it are OK. I really don't like Paul's high voice. It goes on a bit too long tool But I'll take any of my choices over "Girlfriend" any day!

Speaking of the album London Town, I am glad to see Coach included it on Sayne's Challenge for a Purer McCartney but how did Paul forget "Café On The Left Bank?!"
