I enjoyed the bit about George being a bit of a drummer himself and that from Jim Keltner! Take that Paul!

Nah, It is a given that George would be a better drummer than John(we all saw John grab the sticks in LIB) but Paul fancied himself the de facto Beatles drummer.

But I'm sure Paul would. He has always talked Ringo up. Or are we now saying Paul made the "not even the best drummer in the Beatle" quote?

Give Paul another couple of years and he'll have claimed that quote, or at least a co-write of it.

It always gets credited to John, i didn't know it was said by a comedian. Did Ringo know it was a joke, did he care either way. I found this statement.. The line often attributed to John Lennon - "Ringo isn't the best drummer in the world. He isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles" - was actually uttered by British comedian Jasper Carrott in 1983.
