Thought about this the other day when Diana Krall showed up to play "My Valentine." (Damn, she couldn't have shown up at Fresno. Of course, who goes to Fresno?)
But I put the album on and listened to it again. Not much change in thinking. Still not what I had hoped for in an album of old standards by Paul. A couple of songs are OK, but I wish he'd done it another way.

I'm going to wait a little longer to revisit this one.
It could have been a little more bouncier, like Clapton's Old Sock. Eric's album leant more to the blues than the old standards style that Paul was going for. So Eric's album wasn't as far a venture as Paul's was for him.

I might like it better now than I did then but I don't go to it often.
I think that is because at the time of release the sound of Paul's vocal, even for this studio release, shocked and saddened me. Now his voice on Kisses On The Bottom sounds so much better than his voice does today so it almost seems like "the good old days" to me!
