Is this good or bad? Is it the end of the Archive Collection Series as we know it, or will it get us the remaining catalogue sooner?
The unexpected release of Pure McCartney now makes more sense from Concord's point of view. (Wasn't it curated by PM himself?).

They happily settled for the best of. I can't imagine Paul switching labels to slow down his archive releases. Of course if Concord were going to stop them completely, Capitol might have offered releasing them but at a slower pace.

Of course if Concord were going to stop them completely, Capitol might have offered releasing them but at a slower pace. It now sure looks to me like Pure McCartney is the final Concord release, though I can't be certain. If the new studio album appears early in 2017 I would expect it to be on Capitol. As for further reissues (on Capitol too), who knows what will transpire? The press release says "a comprehensive plan for the artist's catalogue is being conceived by Capitol with the artist...and will be implemented beginning in July 2017." That might mean Flowers In The Dirt at that date, or the first of several batches from then on. I suppose one of those super boxes of all the studio albums is a possibility as well?

I had gotten my hopes up for the deluxe re-issued box for Flowers In The Dirt but now that is off the radar it seems. I have purchased all the previous re-issued Macca boxes thus far and man will I go postal if Capitol Records re-issues them again with minor tweaking just to get us diehards to shell out more money! At least the deluxe boxes for Wings Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway have not been released in any format yet so those will be cherry when finally released! I promise not to gloat "I told you so" too much after these come out and slay all of you! Of course I will gloat on such!

It's less than a week until July. I wonder if Capitol's "comprehensive plan for the artist's catalogue" is still happening?

I do not know what is next from Paul as to Re-issues. Of course, I fervently hope that it is Wings Wild Life! I have been hugely disappointed before. For the love of the deity of your choice(or no deity if that is your choice), I hope Press To Play is not next! That one might be better left forgotten!

No comprehensive plan for Paul McCartney's catalogue was implemented starting in July. We can't believe a word we are told.

No one has mentioned yet that it has now been announced that eight of the Archive Collection albums are to be re-released on the Capitol label in November. They will all be single disc sets, that is, no bonus material included, on CD and Vinyl. A limited offering of coloured vinyl issues is coming as well. There is no news of whatever might follow in regards to the rest of Paul McCartney’s catalogue.
Is anyone planning to buy any of this? I doubt if I will.

Nope, I bought all of the boxes and I am not buying these single disc CDs as that would be worthless.

Is it possible when these new Capitol albums hit the shelves the previous Concord versions will be removed? That would mean the bonus material associated with the latter was no longer available. On the bright side that would open the possibility of a box set, or sets, of such material on Capitol some time in the future.

From what I can see, these Capitol re-releases have not even been released in Australia yet. Maybe they will appear when Paul McCartney finally visits here in a couple of weeks time.

Four more vinyl reissues are coming in May: Thrillington, Wings' Greatest, Chaos And Creation and New. You know, even though I don't visit record stores as much as I used to, I still haven't seen any of the first group in any store.

Yesterday, March 31, 2018, was the 40th birthday of London Town! Why no re-issue with a deluxe box?! Has the re-issue series stopped with Paul back at Capitol?

They are releasing the four disks above on a single CD disk. I would be mildly interested in a new copy of Wings Greatest in a digipak package if they would throw in two or three bonus tracks.
