Okay, prices for Desert Trip are dropping, so I'm thinking of taking advantage of it, BUT, which day - Stones and Dylan or Paul and Neil Young. I'm REALLLY torn. I know this is a Beatles Board, but which one would you go to. I'm leaning Stones/Dylan, only because I'd hope that they would play some cuts of their new blues album.

Deep blues cuts and maybe even a cameo by Clapton perhaps?

I would be afraid to see the Stones and have them end up singing blues covers. Word is, they only did the covers album after coming up empty for an album of new songs. At least the blues covers the Stones did on their early albums were fast and upbeat. Not Clapton's style at all. Count me out on that night.
I hear Gilmore and Waters are getting on good these days.
Come on. I'd have to go for the McCartney/Young night.

Come on. I'd have to go for the McCartney/Young night. It's hard for me. I saw both Paul and the Stones last year. The Who earlier this year, and Dylan a couple of months ago, so none are must sees. I think it will come down to what I'd rather see: Dylan joining the Stones on stage (or vis-a-versa) or Neil playing with Paul. I know Paul puts on a GREAT show, but I like my rock to be a bit gritty. Neil would supply that, but Dylan and the Stones would deliver. If Paul were to do a unique set with no pop songs, all guitar songs, and loads of songs he's not done before or rarely, I'd lean to the Paul/Neil show.

I hadn't heard the acts might co-mingle. If they were going to jam together, each night would be very interesting.
I think the Stones would have to Dylan down their songs if Bob were to take the lead. They'd do better with Dylan songs. The Rolling Thunder version of Shelter From the storm would rock with Jagger taking a verse or two.
Waters doesn't have as much range as Daltry. I can hear Waters taking the lead on My Generation, if he can rock it up a bit.
True sayne, Paul and Neil would have to rock it up on the hardest jamming Wings songs.
