001 - Jet (Alternate Version)
"Jet" reached #7 on the U.S. and UK charts in 1974. Recorded in 1973 at the EMI studios in London following the band's return from Nigeria. Ranks 793 among the 1001 singles ever recorded, according to critic Dave Marsh."McCartney explained that Jet was the name of a pony he had owned, although many of the lyrics bore little relation to the subject."

I though Jet was a Martha pup.

That is an excellent version of "Jet," a little grittier than the released version!
"Jet" always needs to be the #2 song in Paul's concert setlist.

That's a kick ass live version of BOTR! Good selection Rocko!
I wish Paul would have brought Wings to the USA in early 1980. We were told back in 1979 that he was coming to America but Wings imploded before that!

We were told back in 1979 that he was coming to America but Wings imploded before that! Your welcome JSD...First time I've ever heard it....With LJ as the guitarist... I didn't know about Wings (last lineup) coming to America...? You would have loved it.... It was very quiet during that period, with Wings...? With no internet (disco, had gone crazy), I remember buying the single Goodnight, Tonight, album BTTE in 1979...Heard the saddest news that Jimmy, had passed away at 26yrs (40 years, a week or two ago?) It was a sad time....Paul getting busted a year later (1980), John getting murdered....

Paul's heart was out of the tour before they finished the U.K. leg. BTTE was a commercial failure, by Wings' standards, and Paul getting busted by being so careless in Japan seems a sub-conscious thing, sabotage Wings without realizing it!
But there is indeed evidence that Paul had intended a U.S. leg for a 1979/1980 Wings World Tour but that was before BTTE bombed!

003 - The Beatles - Grow Old With Me (2019 Fan Mix)
Mix: a version of what "Grow Old with Me" could have sounded like with John on vocals, Paul on bass and Ringo on drums. This uses the backing track from Ringo's version and John's vocal and piano from two alternate demos. As Ringo's version was recorded in the Bb and John's original was in G, it was not possible to incorporate Ringo or Paul's vocals.

I like this song pretty good. Works great in the flow of the album. The lyrics are a little weak. "You can take a pound of love and cook it in a stew"? Watching the link led me to this. Pretty good! Good one JimmyMcCullochFan.

"We've got a Labrador puppy who is a runt, the runt of a litter. We bought her along a roadside in a little pet shop, out in the country one day. She was a bit of a wild dog, a wild girl who wouldn't stay in. We have a big wall around our house in London, and she wouldn't stay in, she always used to jump the wall. She'd go out on the town for the evening, like Lady And The Tramp. She must have met up with some big black Labrador or something.
She came back one day pregnant. She proceeded to walk into the garage and have this litter... Seven little black puppies, perfect little black Labradors, and she's not black, she's tan. So we worked out it must have been a black Labrador.
What we do is if either of the dogs we have has a litter, we try to keep them for the puppy stage, so we get the best bit of them, and then when they get a bit unmanageable we ask people if they want to have a puppy.
"So Jet was one of the puppies."

So, who you gonna believe? Paul McCartney or Paul McCartney?

It's John's birthday. I wouldn't want to tease too hard today. I've followed JimmyMcCullochFan for a while on youtube. He's always got something new and interesting to show. The book sounds good too. Hopefully it wont be as thick and pricey as Lewisohn's book. I'm still saving for it.

That Wings 1975 rehearsal video kicks major ass! Good one Debjorgo!
Jimmy McCulloch shreds on those V&M tracks like "Call Me Back Again!" Too bad the camera rarely goes to him, it obviously stays close to Paul thus Denny who stands close to Macca.
That was an exciting time for Wings, they were about to fly high on their World Tour including the triumphant WOA portion.
To think I was not yet a Beatles' geek when this footage was shot unless it was in September of 1975, that's when I caught Beatlemania for life! I was though a Wings fan even though I didn't know Paul's history so much, mostly I liked those great singles he was putting out in the mid-1970's.
Rocko, when you hear Jimmy shred, you must drop what you are doing and strap on your electric axe and jam down!
