I sold my 300 vinyl albums today for $600.00. I was going through some of the albums with the guy who bought them, he runs a music store in Melbourne, and when he saw the Beatles Ballads album he said the cover used for the Ballads album was originally going to be the cover for the White Album. Is that old news, i haven't heard that before.

I have never heard that, and I doubt it's true.

Ah, it says it on the internet. It must be true then.
Personally, I think it would have been awful.

I thought this was common knowledge. See snippet below from the Beatles Encyclopaedia You can also read it here on Google Books : Beatles Encyclopaedia - Doll House Cover referenceThe doll house cover was rejected due to the July 1968 release of Family's - "Music in a Doll's House"

Thanks stavros.
The internet is a good resource, for most anyway.

Thanks stavros. The internet is a good resource, for most anyway. Well I do recall Fabber of Vectis saying back in 1066 : "Ye can't believe everything ye all read on that there scribe of world wideness" But I am pretty sure I knew of this before the web had been spun from somewhere. Even though I prefer the 'white' cover too.

The White Album cover, jacket, sleeves and inserts, rock! The cover had the potential to Rock and Roll, had they used the Ballads cover.
