I always hope people enjoy his performances, but I guess it's over for me.
It did go on further than 1970 for me, though - I thought the Citfield show was good even though his voice was on the way out by then.

It would be nice if he played Australia - for fabfour's sake anyway! Also Florida again..... Thanks winston, i've only seen him live once, in 1993. He was still at the top of his game back then. He won't re-visit Australia, we don't have auto tune here.

I've only seen one review of his show in Japan and it did not state anything damning. Anyone see any others more comprehensive?

How much you going to spend on the tickets Joe? How many new songs do you think you will get in the show?? Naturally I want to spend as little as possible but it is what it is. I don't even know if I'll be able to get the tickets right on the actual sale day; so I may have to get them on Ebay at some later date. I would go as high as $200 per ticket if necessary, one for me and one for my girlfriend. I'm also not 100% sure I'll go to two venues, though it would be nice if I could swing it somehow. How many new songs do I figure Paul will add? Not many, I'm sure. It would be nice to get a serious re-vamping of the whole set but I don't count on that. I'm just at a point now where I realize that both Paul and Ringo (I DO already have tickets to Ringo at the Beacon Theater in November) will not be around much longer, and so I just want to have as much fun as I can seeing them before they're gone. Being in the same arena with " The Paul McCartney", and sharing the experience with my girlfriend, my friends, my nephew.

I've been meaning to ask if you have also gone over to creationism and Trumpism because of your ardent defense of Paul McCartney's singing voice, or lack thereof! I expect that from some here but not from you! But who am I to complain as I just shelled out $500.00 to Live Nation or whatever the hell those bastards are called for two (2) McCartney tickets for July 25th just to hear Paul croak his way through my cherished memories! I am serious about my bedsheet sign that will proclaim: "All we are saying is give 'Hey Jude' a rest!"

I am not getting political nor want to. I also used a But sayne, a person of sane thoughts, ardently supports Paul's vocal abilities these past five years or so and I am wondering if he has gone to the other side! Not that the other side is bad. Me, I hear Paul sing live and I cringe. Yet I am the dumbass who just paid $500.00 to hear Paul butcher my beloved classics! But I will be in his presence. It would be cool if he sneezed or coughed and I caught a bug from him!! Like when he was in a barf-o-ramus in the Far East a few years ago! I do not think urchins and street punks who see paul these days want "Hey Jude." They want "Mumbo" and "Bip Bop" and other kickass McCartney, maybe "Nod Your Head" or "Monkberry Moon Delight." But "Hey Jude," give me a break! We all watched in horror as Paul bombed big-time with it at the London Olympics Opening Ceremony!

I am not getting political nor want to. I also used a My error then. I didn't realize that a makes it all okay. Other than you and I, nobody wants "Mumbo" or "Bip Bop". If you think Paul bombed with "Hey Jude", it would be a nuclear blowup with the WILD LIFE songs (and I think you know that). But then again, I always take you with tongue in cheek. Like I also don't believe you truly want Paul to sneeze or cough on you either.

Well, I picked up 4 tickets for his Tampa concert on July 10th. I paid for the best seats available (with my wife's blessing! She pointed out that he may not be coming to Florida too many more times....)

After all, don't forget how George Harrison proved he was the master of always trying to stuff too many syllables into his songs! I'm living in the Ma-ter-ial - Wor-ld, Living in the Ma-ter-ia-al - Wor-ld..
And let's not forget that mouthful of marbles in ALL THOSE YEARS AGO: Now we're left cold and sad by someone - the devil's best friend - someone who offended all..
Now in the world of light Where the spirit free of the lies And all else that we despised.

Paul is not even coming to N.O., so I don't have to think about whether to go or not.
I will say this, though, my husband and I were on the fence about getting tickets for his last N.O. concert (2/3 years ago), and only got them at the last minute, about a week before the concert. Our seats were on the roof partially behind the stage, and both of us had a BLAST! Paul sounded way way way way WAY better than we had expected, and if he didn't have the voice of a 25-year-old...somehow it didn't matter.
I'm going to see Neil Diamond on Tuesday. Last time he and I were in a building together, it was 1971. Will he sound like the guy I saw then? Probably not. But I have a feeling that I am going to have a great time anyway. I'll let you know!

I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos from Japan to get enthused for July and it certainly is a crowd-pleasing concert with the song selection. Paul did okay on the George tribute "Something" but the Abbey Road medley especially "Golden Slumbers" was tough to listen to but the crowd is having fun. So Tuesday night get ready for the fun Neil Diamond crowd participation stuff like on "Sweet Caroline!"

I agree, George was the Master. You agree that George was master of always trying to stuff too many syllables into songs? Excellent! It's about time we finally agreed on something! We don't agree on your quote above, because, it's not what i said. I agreed with the bit that said George was the Master. He was the better musician when compared to John and , whilst not as prolific as Paul, George was the better lyricist. And, he was the best of the ex Beatles Uke players. He was the Master of the Uke.

We don't agree on your quote above, because, it's not what i said. I agreed with the bit that said George was the Master. You're just terrible at banter. Truly awful. I likewise had never said that George was the Master; I said that George was "the master of always trying to stuff too many syllables into songs". That was the full and complete sentence. You chopped off the word "master" and edited it there. Paul was a better lead guitarist than George, IMO. Every Beatles studio session tape shows how much George struggled to play a decent solo on the fly; he had to take his time and practice in order to "perfect" it. And he could not shred. George's lyrics were hits and miss. Speaking of Awful, that underlined quote must be American, it certainly isn't English.

Peace and love, peace and love, peace and love!
All of our Beatles were amazing, as Beatles and as Solo artists. Looking back and once beyond the shadow, nay prison cell, of The Beatles, it is amazing what John, Paul, George and Ringo did as Solo artists!
Damn, I wish John and George were still alive and healthy! Each ex-Beatle has a Solo career easily Rock and Roll Hall of Fame worthy and I say that sincerely and with passion. They all got in as Solo artists and just once I'll quote Stella McCartney and say, "It's about f-ing time!"
This is probably my last Paul McCartney concert unless he plays closer to home so I hope its a good one without any fear.

But I have a feeling that I am going to have a great time anyway. I'll let you know! I'll be seeing Neil later this year, having seen him just about every tour since THE Hot August Night tour. I think because he's never had any songs like Helter Skelter and Mumbo, he's never really strained his vocal cords - although there was a concert a couple of tours ago or so (was it Cincinnati?) where he had to refund EVERYONE's money because he was so awful. I don't expect any problems this tour, though. Be ready for the "cheese," though.

Here is the setlist from Japan as posted earlier by Debjorgo: 01. A Hard Day’s Night 02. Jet 03. Drive My Car 04. Junior’s Farm 05. Let Me Roll It 06. I’ve Got a Feeling 07. My Valentine 08. 1985 09. Maybe I’m Amazed 10. We Can Work It Out 11. Every Night 12. In Spite of All the Danger 13. Love Me Do 14. BlackBird 15. Here Today 16. Queenie Eye 17. Lady Madonna 18. I Wanna Be Your Man 19. Magical Mystery Tour 20. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! 21. Obla Di, Obla Da 22. Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) 23. Back In The U.S.S.R. 24. Let It Be 25. Live And Let Die 26. Hey Jude Encore: 27. Yesterday 28. Hi Hi Hi 29. Golden Slumbers 30. Carry That Weight 31. The End I pray to all deities that the horribly boring "My Valentine" gets cut before Paul hits the U.S.A. That song sucks huge ones! Oh and I must endure "Ob la Di, Ob la Da" and maybe Paul can act like Tony Orlando did on his 1970's variety show and sing this song and sit in some old guys lap as he sings it! Not much Pepper in this setlist! And where is the outrage on this Board for ZERO Flowers In The Dirt material even though Paul just ripped us off with that overpriced Box with f-ing download only songs! And where the f_ _ _ is "Mumbo?!" I call upon Sir James Paul McCartney to for once cater to us diehard fans who actually pay money for his products and not phony Beatles newbies who will abandon the band as soon as they hear Paul sing in his old man voice or corporate bigwigs who only want Beatles and BOTR/V&M Wings! In addition to my bedsheet signs protesting "Hey Jude," I may bring my pillow and feign sleep during many of these songs, especially that shit-toid "My Valentine" of the most horrible Paul album ever, Kiss My Ass. I mean WTF, "In Spite Of All The Danger?!" I want "Monkberry Moon Delight" instead! Seriously, I sometimes think Paul's brain is mush and this setlist is just him on mandatory auto-pilot because he is not mentally competent to switch things up! Kind of like Ringo being braindead and playing songs off his live setlist at The Concert For George that went against the show's format of singing George penned songs! P.S. This setlist as reported may not be accurate as I do not see "Something," you know, the George tribute done since 2002! I watched Paul croak....er sing it in Japan this Tour on YouTube. So maybe Paul does do "Band On The Run."

I purchased 2 tickets to one of the NY area gigs in September. Seats were high up, swung semi-close to the stage. $196 a piece, total of $486 after typical surcharges and such. Not complaining about the price per se, as I feel that's just the way it is these days and I can swing it for a once-a-year to a once-every few-years-or-so night with Paul McCartney. I was forever spoiled in 1992 when I won tickets to see Paul at the MTV UP CLOSE taping, standing just 6 or so feet from him at the stage. After that experience, even front-row-center floor seats at stadiums seem far away! Still going to try and make a second venue, but that is just icing on the cake at this point. Seeing Ringo in November, too. I am going to see Paul three times this tour so I can vigorously protest the lazy, ill-paced setlist! "Queenie Eye?!" B-O-R-I-N-G! I bet a million dollars Paul will play the video on the screen so we all are reminded once again that Paul knows Johnny "Domestic Violence" Depp! Nice friends Paul! There will be a mass exodus to the bathrooms and beer lines for "Queenie Eye!" And Johnny Depp admires Keith Richards more than Paul anyway! I want "Too Much Rain" or I am going postal at my shows! Paul does not even know his best material! I am genuinely surprised that Paul isn't playing that horrible "Vanilla Sky" song!

Speaking of Awful, that underlined quote must be American, it certainly isn't English. Meaning, of course, that you don't have a leg to stand on in this debate. So instead, you deflect by referring to a typing error. But if you'd like to play that game, I can have a field day with your writing. Here's one : You're supposed to capitalize "I". OOPS! And here it goes again: But I guess capitalizing "I" and "I've" is purely another "American" thing. (Shameful of you to bash Americans, by the way. You must have a personal issue there). Big twist to call it American bashing, if i was bashing them i would have called them Septic Tanks.

Big twist to call it American bashing, if i was bashing them i would have called them Septic Tanks. Incredible that rather than allow yourself to learn from someone else, you still persist in not capitalizing "I" . Using a "Z" in the word capitalising is definitely American.

And I pray to all deities that MY VALENTINE remains in the set list! It's not only a beautiful song, JSD, but it just so happens to be "our song" for my girlfriend and I. We met each other very close to its release, and it's always been perfect for us. My girlfriend in particular adores the song and gets all teary-eyed whenever she hears it. She is a professional singer, and she honored me at my 50th birthday party one year with a version of it that she sang to me. So there! I can respect that Joe, MV being your and your girlfriend's song! My biggest problem is where it is placed in the setlist. It should be with other slow songs. I also fervently wish Paul had recorded it when he still had a voice! I would like it if recorded prior to 2003. When I saw Paul do it in 2013 I turned my back to the band. I think this year I will do like those athletes do for the National Anthem, I will kneel in the aisle to protest it! Here is Tony Orlando in later years doin Ob La Da and it reminds me of Paul doing it! FITD is Paul's current offering so why not play those songs live this Tour?! And you were as outraged as I was, Joe, about the download only availability of key FITD B-Sides and special Mix versions! Someone has to keep Paul honest as the Macca Mad Hatters do not nor the Press! I gladly accept that role! Like-minded people are the reason there is still a John Lennon legacy despite Paul and the Hatters trying to erase it! I would tolerate "My Valentine" if only Paul would do a "Mumbo" or the title song "Wild Life" or even "Big Barn Bed!" Rock out Paul like you once did!

I want "Too Much Rain" or I am going postal at my shows! Paul does not even know his best material! And you're the one person on Earth who's going to tell Paul that amongst his finest is "Mumbo" - yes? For the 297th time: Paul is never going to sway from his routine when it comes to his set list. I too would love for him to do all-solo songs we've never heard him do ever before. This Japan lineup is practically the same exact set list I saw him do last year in New Jersey. But while you and I (and about 900 others perhaps) would be jumping for joy with a No-Beatles/All-New Solo Songs repertoire, 3/4 of the arena would be empty. Those are just the hard, cold facts. Yes, "Mumbo" is Paul at his very best. It would be the greatest concert opener ever and actually he should do it twice a show, to open the concert then do a Reprise to end the concert! Now he is opening with the Paul only written Beatles classic "A Hard Day's Night."

Mothers will be singing it to their babies. I'm with you here, Joe.

It's a good song, just not my style. It doesn't sound much different than My Love when he's doing it live now. Too bad Henry could not have come in and did a solo for it.
