Okay, the first Desert Trip probably can never be beaten (Stones, Dylan, McCartney, Neil Young, the Who, Roger Waters). Don't know if there is going to be another one, but who's around now that you think would make a great sophomore effort?
Keep in mind that there is going to be a Classic East and Classic West in Dodger Stadium and Citi Field with Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Journey, and Earth Wind and Fire will be playing, so it's unlikely that any of them would also play Desert Trip 2 (nor do I think any of them rank as high as the first group). I doubt if Clapton will play, because he's doing a mini-tour of Los Angeles and New York in September. Elton John is doing a residency in Las Vegas in April and May, so that might take out some interest and sales for a Desert Trip showing. Two-thirds of ELP are dead, there are two versions of Yes touring, Moody Blues don't really rock anymore, Jethro Tull is down to just Ian Anderson, Mike Love's Beach Boys (lame), Brian Wilson (a festival draw?) . . .
I'd go with Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Tom Petty, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, and Paul Simon.
Who would you have?

That's tough, sayne!
Desert Trip 1 had an amazing line-up that would have been even more surreal and mind-blowing if 25 years ago!
Some of the groups I might pick are playing at that Dodgers thing you listed.
Springsteen, U2, a fully reunited R.E.M.(the original four), Eagles(in L.A.), a full 1976 version of Fleetwood Mac(in L.A. or some of them) and The Hollies with Graham Nash, of course hunky lead guitarist, Tony Hicks, and a miracle in the return of Allan Clarke's voice but only if those three are there and Clarke has a voice(although that doesn't stop Macca these days).

The Byrds (McGuinn and Crosby) The Faces (Stewart and Wood) The Kinks (Ray and Dave) CCR (John Fogerty and whoever is left) The reason I had Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young in mine is because Graham Nash in a recent interview said that CSNY hate Donald Trump more than they hate each other, so therefore a reunion would be possible.
