LOL, Geoff Emerick is kinder to GM in death than he was in his ghostwritten book!
Emerick made George Harrison and Ringo sound like bumbling second-rate band members who were always told by Paul what to do and he had little use for John, marginalizing him at every turn I seem to recall. Of course, since Paul continued to use Emerick as a recording engineer from time to time in the solo years, Paul was the man for Emerick
And man, his description on George Martin was shocking, basically said GM was overrated, that he Emerick was the studio genius. Thus this bit is revealing from this interview Fabfour kindly linked us to:
"Pitchfork: Did you ever talk to George about what he thought of modern digital production techniques? GE: I hadn't seen him in a few years, to be honest, but I know he felt exactly the same way as I do. He knew the direction it has gone, although he embraced some new ideas. But the way it's going now it's just ridiculous, it really is."
Hmm, I wonder why Emerick hadn't seen GM in a "few years?"
