What is the reason for the 'kind of' odd bass part in the third verse? Or is it even odd? Has he ever done something like that before? He starts that lick on the word "where", and the other verses he starts it near the word "go". Then...it's almost like it throws him off. It's just a great part to listen to. Is that part on purpose?
At 1:05 it's a staggered part that is diff than the other verses.

At 1:05 it's a staggered part that is diff than the other verses. Could have been intentional-might have been trying some off notes like Brian Wilson (or Carol Kaye? ). Paul's isolated bass on songs often sounds rough, yet comes out so smooth in the master. One I would reference is Oh Darling, where there was some debate on Hoffman over just who was playing. A couple of mistakes no the isolated bass are barely noticeable in the final mix.
