HEY RINGO! George Harrison’s widow has given drummer Ringo Starr a LOST Beatles song her hubby wrote pleading he stay with the band in the 1970s
Who would have thought that after all this time it would suddenly be found? Amazing.

The song is true. It's in the new edition of I, Me, Mine. I'm not sure about the the timing or the pleading part.

Well, I am glad that this did not see the light of day until now! It would have been twee.
I love the sentiments expressed but I am glad George and Ringo did not try to record it way back when.
I mean the "Mr. G" part is so goofy.
"Early 1970" says it best and is all we need in this regard.

And this may have been an early idea for "Early 1970"? Which is a nice fun song but nothing particularly special. Who knows what George intended to do with those lyrics. He may have been just goofing around? As a different example "Road to Marrakesh" would have been sort of OK on the the White Album. But it later became "Jealous Guy". John upgraded the lyrics and it became a classic. So I too am glad this will probably never see the light of day.
