By all accounts, Miami was a smash. I'll let you Google the reviews.

I go July 25 in some crappy outdoor venue in some crappy Chicago suburb on a Tuesday night!
Nothing like Macca conquering one of America's greatest cities on a weeknight in a bizarre, non-cool location. What happened to the days of Soldier Field or the United Center in Chicago proper?

Well John, let's hope you can leave your mac in the car. Some suggested signs/banners you could carry: "Let Rusty sing the high notes" "Hey Jude Sucks!" "Play Mumbo and see me dance naked!"

In July 2013 I was stopped by security at Paul's Indianapolis concert for my bedsheet sign that proclaimed:
"Paul Quit Rewriting Beatles History!"
This was after Paul announced that he was "re-claiming" "Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite."
I think I will scream "MUMBO!" at the top of my lungs throughout the entire concert! My seatmates will be charmed!

Well, we saw Sir Paul in Tampa last night. I wrote down the set list (which amused my wife) but I think I left the list in my hotel room! . (I'm sure you can Google it!) ;-) But yes, JSD, he did do some rarities, including You Won't See Me and Hi Hi Hi, as well as Junior's Farm! Yes, he did My Valentine, New, and Queenie Eye, which caused some bathroom breaks, but the fans up front were still singing along! Bottom line - great show! Paul's voice was weak, especially on Maybe I'm Amazed, but no one seemed to care! The showmanship is intact, as are the light shows and fireworks. My wife and son had a great time, as did my son's friend, whom he brought. So JSD, I hope you appreciate that we can still go and see Paul one more time while we still can....

I saw Paul McCartney last night at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Southwest of downtown Chicago. I am happy to say that Paul did not disappoint! The local Press loved it: patch.com/illinois/tinleypark/sir-paul-mccartney-puts-tinley-park-map-macca-nificent-showwww.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/ct-ent-paul-mccartney-review-0728-story.htmlThe set-list was as follows: 1. A Hard Day's Night 2. Save Us 3. Can't Buy Me Love 4. Letting Go 5. Temporary Secretary 6. Let Me Roll It 7. I've Got a Feeling 8. My Valentine 9. Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five 10. Maybe I'm Amazed 11. We Can Work It Out 12. In Spite of All The Danger 13. You Won't See Me 14. Love Me Do 15. And I Love Her 16. Blackbird 17. Here Today 18. Queenie Eye 19. New 20. The Fool on the Hill 21. Lady Madonna 22. FourFiveSeconds (Rihanna and Kanye West and Paul McCartney cover) 23. Eleanor Rigby 24. I Wanna Be Your Man 25. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! 26. Something 27. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da 28. Band on the Run 29. Back in the U.S.S.R. 30. Let It Be 31. Live and Let Die 32. Hey Jude Encore: 33. Yesterday 34. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) 35. Hi, Hi, Hi 36. Birthday 37. Golden Slumbers 38. Carry That Weight 39. The End Paul was in very good form, his voice was good in the context of his age and the band played tight. Paul seemed sincere in his anecdotes even though I have heard many of them before. I am surprised that more from Pepper was not played and Paul needs to drop "Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite." Fans would rather hear Paul sing the songs he sang from Pepper! I was really touched by Paul several times last night. Since I did not have to drive I also drank more than I normally would have so maybe my buzz made me more sentimental. I thought Paul was really good in terms of entertaining us. I won't pretend to think he sings like he did in 1966, 1976, 1989/1990 or even 2002 but it was fun.

. . . Fans would rather hear Paul sing the songs he sang from Pepper! . . . I knew you would like the show. Although not a full-on naysayer, you seem to have often leaned toward the "hang it up, Paul" wing. I could be wrong. The only thing I would question is what you said about Paul singing "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite." I, for one, would love for Paul to sing a number of songs he did not write or sing. Jeez, why does everyone in the world get a chance to sing "She Said She Said," "Rain," "Tomorrow Never Knows," "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away," "It's All Too Much," "Medicine Jar," "Time to Hide," and so on, but he can't?

It's good to hear you (and winstonoboogie from an earlier concert) enjoyed yourselves and that Paul still puts on a very good show. I'm interested to hear what you thought about his rendition of FourFiveSeconds. I like the original "trio" version and was wondering what Paul's solo presentation is like. Is it a full version, an edited version, does he get vocal help from other band members etc.

Fair point sayne and I did not express myself well. For instance, I really liked Paul singing "A Hard Day's Night" including the John parts! I guess my complaint on "Kite" is not so much Paul singing a John sung song but the pace of "Kite" kind of threw off what was a very well-paced set-list. That is where I am really going with that. "Lovely Rita" would be better for the pace of the show. "Kite" is just not a concert song, it didn't fit theme-wise or pace-wise. Hey, my favorite Live Paul moment was seeing Paul do the "Lennon Medley" at his World Tour Finale at Soldier Field Chicago in late July 1990!

One of the articles I provided above discusses Paul's Chicago performance of it. I liked it. it is short. Here is a recent performance of it in Florida, maybe Winston's show:

I like the way Rihanna's voice kind of cuts out as she sings this song on the recording. Paul does that well when he sings it too.
