So we have reached the finals!!!
Final: #7 Band On The Run vs. #9Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey
Consolation Match: #11 Junior's Farm vs. #21 Maybe I'm Amazed (live)
DQ #1: From the songs in this tourney what would your final four have been (in order)?
DQ #2: Using Paul's entire solo catalog, what songs (if any) would you have in a final four?
Thanks for playing. I'm going to do a John Lennon singles tourney next.

Final: #7 Band On The Run
Consolation Match: #11 Junior’s Farm
DQ#1: 1) Band On The Run 2) Silly Love Songs 3) Live And Let Die 4) Junior’s Farm
DQ#2: 1) Maybe I’m Amazed (studio version) 2) Band On The Run 3) Silly Love Songs 4) Live And Let Die
Regarding DQ#2, there are plenty of other later songs I think could have been successful hit singles if they had been released during Paul's solo commercial peak years (approximately 1970 to 1984 perhaps). They wouldn't necessarily make my top four though.

Band on The Run My Brave Face Take it Away Girls School
DQ #2: Using Paul's entire solo catalog, what songs (if any) would you have in a final four?
Very tough question. Other than the 4 listed above, I would consider songs like Wanderlust, Dear Boy, Friends to Go, and Letting Go (but the live version).

I have Uncle Albert higher than Band on the Run in the other thread where I put them all in order. It's a little harder to decide when they are faced off side by side. I go with the more experimental, postulate era song, Uncle Albert.
Junior's Farm for the Consolation, since it would have been my top choice.
I'm happy enough with my top four.
1 #11 Junior's Farm 2 #20 Hi Hi Hi 3 #10 Live And Let Die 4 #19 Helen Wheels
I'll do DQ #2 as my top four, non-single, picks.
Maybe I'm Amazed, Every Night, Mumbo and Too Much Rain are certainly in the running.
Let's see.... Monkberry Moon Delight Tomorrow (I swear Tomorrow, the song from the Annie musical, used in the Entresto heart failure medicine ad, started playing as I was typing this!) The Mess (B-side) Soily Morse Moose So Glad to See You Here Wanderlust The World Tonight That Was Me

Band On The Run
Junior's Farm
DQ1: These two and "My Brave Face" and "Sally G" (since it was in the play-in round, I'll say it was in the tourney).
DQ: "My Brave Face," "Sally G," "Too Much Rain" and "No Values."

I declare Band On The Run the winner of the Paul McCartney US Top 40 singles tourney. Junior's Farm wins the consolation round.
Love the input on other songs. I'll be doing a McCartney UK hits, non top 40 US singles, B-sides, top album tracks tourney in the future.

Good pick with No Values. It's one of my favorites too. It is one of the few McCartney songs that I could hear The Rolling Stones doing. No, it wouldn't sound JUST like Paul's, but it's in their wheelhouse. JcS

Thanks Coach for running this!
Of course, I take comfort knowing "Mumbo" was not in consideration here because it was not a hit but if we were doing the best McCartney song of them all, I'd be gunning for "Mumbo!"

I think it's appropriate that Band On The Run wins. The outcome of the tournament might have ended predictably, but the song is probably the most iconic of Paul McCartney's post-Beatles career. It is the song that the general public would likely associate with him.
