Folks, I'm no longer on Things We Said Today. I left that show last August. I'm now hosting my own show called Beatles News Briefs. It's a show with updates of Beatles news and the latest chart positions from the US and UK. On many of the shows is Candy Leonard, the author of "Beatleness," who is the show's contributing editor. She brings a sociological perspective to the show and with my news background, it makes for a little different perspective on the Beatles and not the kiss-butt commentary on some shows. It's on iTunes, YouTube and places you can get podcasts. The home page is marinucci.podbean.com, which is where you can download shows. Guests on the over 40 shows available have been Giles Martin, Elliot Mintz, Denny Seiwell, author Brian Southall and more. Hope you'll check it out, subscribe (please!!) and spread the word.

Thanks, John. I think it's getting better (and we're getting more DLs) with each show.

Yes. Just search for Beatles News Briefs. And I have posted a couple of links to recent shows in this category, most recently last night.

Everyone, I would really really appreciate your thoughts on the show, either generally or on individual shows. They'd be most appreciated.

You're welcome. Candy Leonard, who's with me on many of the shows, and I are talking about some plans for the show. I'll let you guys know. One upcoming show will have Denny Laine as soon as I can get it edited.

One upcoming show will have Denny Laine as soon as I can get it edited. Denny Laine will be interesting, he was Paul's sidekick for years, and yet, once he finished with Paul, he didn't appear to do much, which is odd because he must have had above average musical ability for Paul to want to work with him.

I'm not sure when I'll get the Laine show done or how soon it'll run. I have another I need to finish up today. it's a future show, though. If you haven't already, listen to the Denny Seiwell interview. He's always great to talk to.

Good show Steve, Danny Seiwell is an interesting character. Good to hear he is still friends with Paul.
Have you heard Danny's groups version of Live and Let Die, is it any good ?

Here it is. Judge for yourself.
And thanks for the comment. I have to confess starting my own show wasn't my original plan. But we're trying not to be the same as the others and being a little more intellectual (if that's a good word). That's one big reason why Candy's there. I loved her book and I was surprised one of the other podcasts hadn't asked her to join them because of her perspective on Beatlefandom. This week's show about the Sullivan debut is a good example.
