Okay, here are the nominees for next year's induction. I have to say, NONE of these blow my mind. I'd put the Go-Gos, Jethro Tull, Emerson Lake and Palmer, B-52s, Richie Havens, and Gary Numan ahead of any of them. My choices are in BOLD: Dave Matthews Band Depeche Mode Doobie BrothersJudas Priest KraftwerkMC5 Motorhead Nine Inch Nails Notorious B.I.G. Pat BenatarRufus featuring Chaka Khan Soundgarden T-RexThin Lizzy Todd Rundgren Whitney Houston
I don't think they necessarily should be in, but for me, if the Eagles, Steely Dan, and ELO are in, then I guess they should be in, too. I wonder if it's Pat Benatar only or the band, too?

Oops. I left out that I was talking about the Doobie Brothers in relationn to the Eagles, Steely Dan, and ELO. I'll throw in Journey, too.

I like bands that have a long career, with hit after hit after hit. The Doobies are the only ones who fit that profile. I never was a big fan but you have to give them credit for longevity. The rest of them, I'm lucky if I came name one song.
Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching Depeche Mode - ? Doobie Brothers - many songs Judas Priest - You Got Another Thing Coming Kraftwerk - Autobahn MC5 - ? Motorhead - The Ace of Spades Nine Inch Nails - The one song with the noisy video Notorious B.I.G. - I Love it When You Call Me Big Papa Pat Benatar - A pretty good string of hits Rufus featuring Chaka Khan - Tell Me Something Good, (I remember saying at one point, they should get in for just that one song) Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun, a few others T-Rex - Bang a Gong, (Was Jeepster a hit? I know they were bigger in the UK) Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak, The Boys are Back in Town Todd Rundgren - A pretty good list Whitney Houston - A Monster hit with Dolly's song, a few other (I Want to Dance With Somebody, ... Ican't name any more but I'm sure you can)
