The good Dr. Ebbetts asked me to post the contents of his new releases from his mass-mailer sent out this evening, that includes the missing "Red Mono's" and many other new and essential titles that are saved from being lost to history. He also makes mention that there will be an EXTENSIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE UPGRADES ANNOUNCEMENT ON MONDAY, JANUARY 19, 2009.
Here are the NEW titles:
Welcome to the Winter, 2008 DOCTOR EBBETTS SOUND SYSTEMS announcement.
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING COMPACT DISCS LISTED IN TODAY’S TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS UNDER THE HEADINGS OF “UPGRADES” AND “NEW TITLES” FEATURE THE NEW DR. EBBETTS FULL COLOR PRINTING METHOD (NOW ONE YEAR OLD, ACTUALLY). PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THESE DISCS ARE NOT INK JET PRINTED FULL COLOR DISCS NOR ARE THEY PAPER LABELLED. THESE DISCS FULLY REPLICATE PROFESSIONALLY PRINTED SILK SCREEN DISCS. THE PRINTING METHOD USED IS A FULL-COLOR 600DPI THERMAL TRANSFER PROCESS. THE PRINTING IS CRISP AND THE RESULTS ARE OUTSTANDING.
Now, onto the NEW TITLES available now.

NOT THE FRENCH WHITE VINYL PRESSING, BUT THE HIGHLY PRIZED GERMAN WHITE VINYL DIRECT-METAL-MASTERING ISSUE. CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE THE DEFINITIVE RELEASE OF THE WHITE ALBUM ON VINYL.

LIKE THE GERMAN DMM ISSUE OF THE WHITE ALBUM, THIS VERSION OF “ABBEY ROAD” IS CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE THE BEST SOUNDING RELEASE OF THIS LP. IT IS VERY WARM AND SMOOTH – MUCH MORE SO (IN MY OPINION) THAN THE MORE COMMON TOSHIBA JAPANESE PRESSING (AP-8815).

THIS IS A FIRST PRESSING OF THE OFFICIAL UK RELEASE OF THIS LP FROM 1979 – AND FOR MY MONEY, IT SOUNDS FAR SUPERIOR TO THE AMERICAN PRESSING OF THE LP. THE SOUND IS OUTSTANDING. THE SAME TRACK LINEUP AS THE AMERICAN VERSION, BUT WITH THE CHANNELS SWITCHED “BACK” TO THEIR MORE FAMILIAR POSITIONS. DROPPED FROM A PRSITINE FIRST PRESSING. SMOOTH, WARM. I’VE GOTTEN A TON OF REQUESTS FOR THIS ONE. HERE IT IS … ON ONE DISC. (BOX PARLOPHONE LABEL)

LONG TALL SALLY - (CANADIAN stereo LP) – ST-6063 (version 2)
INDEED, THIS TITLE ALREADY EXISTS IN THE DR. EBBETTS CATALOGUE – BUT NOT EXACTLY. THE VERSION THAT IS CURRENTLY PART OF THE EBBETTS CANON FEATURES ONLY TWO OF THE TWELVE SONGS IN STEREO (“Please Mister Postman” and “You Can’t Do That’). THAT’S HOW IT WAS RELEASED – AS A STEREO LP – WITH TEN MONO CUTS.
THIS VERSION OF THE SAME LP FEATURES SEVEN OF THE TWELVE TRACKS IN STEREO. (YES, THAT’S HOW IT WAS PRESSED). THIS, TOO, HAS GARNERED A LOT OF REQUESTS. MANY LIKE THE SOUND OF THIS PRESSING. (PURPLE CAPITOL OF CANADA LABEL)

RINGO STARR (1 new title)
This title features the new full color disc printing method.
BLAST FROM YOUR PAST - (US stereo LP) – SW-3422
I FIGURED IT WAS TIME TO ADD A RINGO TITLE TO THE MIX. THIS IS HIS FIRST “GREATEST HITS” COLLECTION FROM DECEMBER, 1975. IT IS A NICE, CONCISE, BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING LP. IT IS DROPPED FROM A GORGEOUS FIRST PRESSING. (RED APPLE LABEL)

LED ZEPPELIN (4 new titles)
These titles features the new full color disc printing method.
THE FOLLOWING FOUR TITLES ARE SOURCED FROM FIRST ISSUE AMERICAN PRESSINGS – NOT FROM THE CLASSIC 200 GRAM LP SERIES. MY ORIGINAL INTENT WAS TO RELEASE THE ZEPPELIN CLASSIC LP SERIES AFTER THE ENTIRE COLLECTION WAS OFFERED TO ME BY A LONG TIME MEMBER OF THE MAILING LIST. INDEED, I DID NEEDLE DROPS OF THE ENTIRE CLASSIC RECORD SERIES (WHICH I WILL EVENTUALLY RELEASE), BUT WHILE DOING THEM, I BECAME VERY INTERESTED IN HEARING WHAT GORGEOUS FIRST ISSUE PRESSINGS OF THE SAME MATERIAL SOUNDED LIKE. TWO MEMBERS FROM MY MAILING LIST – BOTH IN TEXAS (AND WHO GOES BACK TO THE VERY BEGINNING OF THIS BLASTED PROJECT) – SUPPLIED ME WITH NEAR MINT COPIES OF THE “1841 BROADWAY” ISSUES.
“IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU GOT OFF YOU’RE A** AND DID SOME ZEPPELIN!”
VERY SHY FRIENDS I HAVE.
AFTER COMPARING THE ORIGINAL ISSUES TO THE CLASSIC SERIES, I DECIDED TO GO WITH THE ORIGINALS. THE CLASSIC LPS SOUNDED WONDERFUL, BUT TO ME (AS ALWAYS) THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE ORIGINALS THAT MAKE ME FEEL GOOD.
THE PRESSING OF LED ZEPPELIN II IS NOT A ROBERT LUDWIG DISC.
LED ZEPPELIN - (US stereo LP) – SD-8216

THE WHO (1 new title)
This title features the new full color disc printing method.
WHO’S NEXT - (UK stereo LP) – TRACK 2408-102
AS WITH THE ZEPPELIN TITLES, I RECEIVED A COPY OF THE CLASSIC RECORDS PRESSING OF THIS TITLE. AND LIKE I DID WITH THE ZEPPELIN TITLES, I WAS COMPELLED TO COMPARE IT TO THE ORIGINAL US PRESSING. THEN, I COMPARED IT TO THE ORIGINAL UK STEREO PRESSING.
I WENT WITH THE ORIGINAL UK STEREO PRESSING. THIS TITLE HAS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING. IT FITS IN NICELY WITH THE REST OF MY WHO TITLES.
1 baba o’riley
2 bargain
3 love ain’t for keeping
4 my wife
5 song is over

as for new releases, THAT’S IT FOR NOW

Once again, there will be an EXTENSIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE UPGRADES ANNOUNCEMENT ON MONDAY, JANUARY 19, 2009.
Exciting stuff to say the least. As soon as I get my order I will post reviews as fast as possible! I'm especially looking forward to the "Red Mono" titles as well as the White Album DMM!
