Still making my way through the 3 episodes - I find it fascinating and revealing. So interesting to hear their conversations with the benefit of hindsight. (And wow, was George Martin handsome!!)

I was surprised at how much George Martin was present for the rehearsals ! (I was lead to believe that he was sidelined for the Get Back sessions)!

It is odd that Glyn Johns was brought in to produce the recordings yet George Martin was hovering around the whole time. I think George Martin was burned out a bit after the marathon White Album Sessions as he needed coaxed back by Paul for Abbey Road. Welcome back Winston!

Glyn Johns was also handsome - and a snappy dresser! Best clothes: Ringo Runner-up best clothes: George 3rd place: Glyn Johns George also wins the award for being the only (male) person who never had dirty hair in any episode. My husband has been disappointed with all of the goofing off. I am not - but it sure gives a person time to look at clothes and hair!

Whilst you found time to check all that out i was busy checking out all the different gear they were using. That Rosewood Fender Telecaster that George was using, especially on the rooftop, was an awesome looking guitar, apparently it was heavier than a normal guitar due to it's construction. Later in 1969, George gave away his Rosewood Tele to Delaney Bramlett of Delaney & Bonnie. Delaney kept the instrument until he sold it at auction in 2003, two years after George's death. It fetched a staggering $434,750, bought by an intermediary for George's widow, Olivia Harrison. It is now back at Friar Park. www.fender.com/en-US/george-harrisonIn January 1969 when The Beatles famously staged their last "concert" on the Apple rooftop in London. Ringo played his Ludwig Hollywood kit, Paul his '63 Hofner bass, John his stripped Epiphone Casino, and George the new Rosewood Tele. All the amps were Fenders. Billy Preston was there, too, playing a Fender Rhodes Seventy Three.

Sunday I drove to Indianapolis and at 3:00 p.m. E.S.T attended the IMAX showing of The Beatles Get Back The Rooftop Concert. That was the only Indiana showing of it.
Peter Jackson did a live Q & A at the start (thus all such showings started at the same time but in different time zones so folks in San Francisco for instance went at 12:00 noon their time which is 3:00 p.m. my time) and he confirmed that the upcoming Blu-Ray of Get Back will have no bonus material and be exactly as shown on Disney+. PJ had other interesting tidbits and I enjoyed his responses to viewers' questions submitted electronically.
PJ said we need to write Disney and Apple lobbying for more material to be released from the Get Back Sessions and PJ wished he could have had more full song performances and said that there were 2 to 3 hours of footage he did not use (or maybe was not allowed to use) that he said needs to be released for the sake of Beatles' history.
It sounded like it was not so much musical scenes but perhaps some of the discussions held as the Beatles were divided over how to proceed in this project. It may be business matters too as we know John had his first meeting with Allen Klein during January.
PJ said these things may also come out if the original LIB film is commercially released as PJ hopes it will but he made no promises.
The film itself opened with that same introduction of the Beatles in Episode 1 of Get Back and the audience got pretty impatient, it was clearly meant to pad time onto the film.
The Rooftop performance was also the same as seen in Episode 3 of Get Back and that included the street and Apple lobby shots and conversations.
It was awesome though seeing the Beatles playing live on such a large IMAX screen and the sound was unreal, amazing.
The picture was really good for a film shot in 1969 but perhaps not as sharp as a film made specifically for IMAX viewing.
It was still awesome though and I noticed things I didn't really catch at home watching it such as George playing the notes on those awesome lead guitar solos he did on "One After 909," "I've Got A Feeling" and "Dig A Pony."
I really picked up on the sheer fun John and Paul were having as expressed on their faces and in their amazing singing.
Also it was fun watching Paul and John acknowledge throughout the performance fans on other roofs who were shouting encouragement to our boys.
We even got a sealed movie poster and replica of the poster we could wear around our necks.
We were told that there will be further showings of this film in February but no more live Q & A with Peter Jackson.
I highly recommend this film if it is anywhere close to you.

The Beatles Get Back The Rooftop Concert may be coming to an IMAX Theater near you. Here is a film locater from IMAX: www.imax.com/movies/beatles-get-back-rooftop-concertThe film is 66 minutes total padded with the Get Back docuseries introduction on The Beatles at the start of Episode 1 and then the closing credits which show filmed scenes from the equally important January 31, 1969 when the band filmed complete performances of "Two Of Us," "Let It Be" and "The Long And Winding Road." I saw the January 30th premier of the film and I thoroughly enjoyed it even driving 170 miles round trip to see it on a very bitterly cold Indiana January day. There is nothing here that we did not see in Get Back but watching it on a big screen and with great audio is really fun.

Thanks! I only got Disney to see it, and I'm ready to ditch Disney - just keep saying that I'll watch it "one more time" before I do haha! Me too, I hate Disney+. Peter Jackson is hopeful that the original LIB movie will be re-issued and then we might get more bonus footage. He also urged fans to lobby Apple and Disney to re-issue a subsequent edition of the Get Back documentary with bonus material, and there could be a lot per Jackson, but right now evil Disney has included zero bonus material in the upcoming home release delayed a couple times now.

The retired policeman should buy a dozen copies for family and friends! I learned from Get Back that the police really wanted the Rooftop performance shut down and Officer Dagg gets pretty firm and stern in the Apple lobby at least. I think in Anthology or in some interview Ringo says that he wished the cops had arrested the Beatles and carried them away making it sound like the police presence really was not a big deal. Ringo almost makes it sound in that older interview that the police shown in LIB were almost staged by MLH. That is not true. The extended Get Back Rooftop footage proves that the police were intent on shutting the Beatles down and were essentially stalled out by Apple staff and even in the original LIB, we fans at Beatlefest would cheer in the Grand Ballroom during the showing of that rare film when George turns his amp back on!

I know that they limited the number of people on the roof - or tried to, anyhow - but I was surprised to see in Get Back that Linda was there that afternoon, but not outside. Maybe she hates being cold, maybe she got there late, who knows? But I'll bet that she was sorry later to have missed being out there!

Maybe she hates being cold, maybe she got there late, who knows? But I'll bet that she was sorry later to have missed being out there! I thought that too after first watching this documentary. Linda was not on the Roof! She missed a major event that Yoko and Maureen were at and that must have eaten at her the rest of her life! I must say I really disliked Linda's snarky comments about Yoko the day after the meeting at Ringo's house. Linda is sitting in the Beatles' inner circle as if she was one of the band so don't go complaining about Yoko speaking for John, lovely Linda!

I bought The Beatles Get Back Blu-Ray from the Beatles Store and though it has taken my money, for two days there has been a mailing label but the Disc hasn't been put in the actual mail yet. WTF?!
I wouldn't recommend the Beatles Store for jack-shit and I will give it a terrible review if my product is ever even delivered.

Friday, I had like 27 such USPS updates! *.* It would have been nice though to have had this over the weekend.
