I certainly can't attest to the entire album, but I heard this version (by someone I've never heard about), and I liked his versions of "Kiss of Venus." I'm eager to hear St. Vincent's and Josh Homme's contributions.
Based on what I heard with "Kiss of Venus" and, hopefully what I'll hear with the rest, this reminds me of a thought I've had about Paul for years. I figured there would be a time when he would stop touring and making records, but I couldn't imagine him not writing songs. I think he could become a major supplier of songs for this and future artists.
Frankly, I think the thing that does not make him "interesting" to the charts today are his arrangements and style (and singing, to some extent). But, put those songs in the hands of "the kids" and the songs become current.
Hollier Dozer Holland supplied Motown with tons of songs and they say that a small handful of producer/writers supply the songs for half the artists today (which is why they all sound the same). I think Paul can keep himself "au current" if he went in that direction. He could also do recording and video cameos if he wanted stay somewhat in the spotlight.

The Fike video here is labeled as Paul McCartney. Isn't that kind of defeating the purpose?

I made a comment in the McCartney Iii topic that I don't think I will buy this version of the album. However, I will listen to the cover versions on YouTube and streaming services. I have already heard younger unknown singers cover songs from McCartney Iii and liked th÷ covers.

Here's another version of The Kiss of Venus covered by an unknown singer. He has other great covers from McCartney III

That is a very good thought sayne but my exception would be Paul's songs for Egypt Station: I did not like Paul's vocals there but more importantly, I HATED most of the songs on that album as Paul tried to cop a different persona, creepy sex-crazed dementia old dude especially with that awful song "Fuck You" or whatever precious name he gave it.

It's too bad Paul's sons music career didn't amount to much, Paul could have written for, or with, the young turk.
I could imagine the young turk taking his old man to task about some of his lyrics, c'mon dad, i'm not singing that shite, can't we rewrite that bit.

Hey here is some Macca/Macca where the Young Turk probably played, "the hot electric stuff!" ‘Spinning On An Axis’ – I was sitting in New Hampshire, visiting American relatives. The sun was going down and me and James, my son, were talking about how the sun actually isn’t going down, we’re turning around away from it. We had a little keyboard thing there and James was playing a little riff on it and I was doing a parody rap thing, just goofing off with no real melody, on those thoughts of spinning on an axis. I had my little cassette with me and I happened to tape that as a little reminder.

Bad luck to the Young Turk, his shot at fame and acclaim was on Paul's biggest Turkey, Driving Rain.
He never recovered.

The physical copy is not due out until July 23rd. The digital copy is already out. I'm not sure why I'm buying 3 month old music for an album I'm not that interested in anyway.

I thinks it's the whole album but I think some of the tracks are just remixed by other artists.

Is that classed as another Macca #1 ? That is not BILLBOARD's main album chart so the answer is not really but Paul will take this! I have not purchased this album and I do not think I will. I enjoy Macca III but not so much when others perform it.

I enjoy Macca III but not so much when others perform it. Yes, this is not the main chart but at least it's number one on one chart. Initially I wasn't going to buy this version of M3. I listened to this version on Spotify and Paul does sing on a few songs and I liked the versions that Paul was on so I bought the album.

This just says it's number 1 on the Current Albums Chart. www.billboard.com/charts/current-albumsThat's album, not LP. I assumed it just meant physical sales. Of course it's not the Hot 100 chart, so it's not a number 1 album.

That article doesn't make sense. "The set starts with 21,000 equivalent album units earned in the July 23-29 tracking week, according to MRC Data, with nearly all its units via album sales." The 21,000 albums moved were nearly all albums?
