While I don't think much of what Bruce Springsteen has done the last 20 years or so in terms of songs and albums, the guy (and his band) can still rock live. I thought it was the best Super Bowl Halftime performance ever.
My rankings of top Super Bowl performances: 1. Bruce Springsteen 2. Paul McCartney 3. U2 4. Tom Petty
And the worst: 1. Janet Jackson & Justin Timberlake 2. Britney Spears & others 3. Rolling Stones

My wife likewise called it her favorite Super Bowl Halftime performance and I think I agree.
Springsteen did a masterful job of selecting four songs that had to be crammed into 12 minutes(he went longer than that).
He performed, of course: 1. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out 2. Born To Run 3. Working On A Dream(title song to brand new album, greatly shortened with cool choir); and 4. Glory Days(shortened with football terms replacing baseball ones).
Springsteen's insertion of a new song worked because it had a rockingly soulful choir and he greatly shortened it and he went right into a likewise shortened "Glory Days," a crowd favorite.
I read last night that Bruce may have gotten the wind knocked out of him when he slid into the cameraman towards the end of the first song. The women in my office thought that he looked a little winded in general jumping on the piano and doing some other athletics. He is in his late 50's I suppose and he looked fine to me.
Paul's Super Bowl performance was very good too although I still wish that "Drive My Car" would have been dropped for something else. It is a great Beatles' album track but there are even more high voltage songs in Paul's catalog and I think that a Super Bowl performance should be as high voltage as the artist can get.
Say what you will about Springsteen, he gives it his all in concert.

Springsteen showed he is still the Boss. Andy Sipowicz did a great job on the horns-loved him in NYPD Blue.

I've never been a Springsteen fan. When the half-time show started I tuned him out. I really don't see where he has any talent, certainly nothing above average. Hell of a game though.

As i stated at the outset, I'm not a fan of his songs and albums of the last 20-25 years, (and even some of his earlier ones can tend to get overrated) but he put on one heck of a live show and it is too bad you tuned him out. He really impressed me.
