I bought this when it came out years ago. There is no mention of a remaster or remix. There's no deluxe treatment. It's already passed the 50th anniversary of the event, Aug 30, 1972. The album/long-form video was released in '86, so we have three years to look for that.

I thought that we were getting in 2022 the Super Deluxe STINYC with the same treatment POB and Imagine got but I guess not.
This Live in NYC could have been done so much better than it was but I was glad to have it in 1986!

I remember seeing the show on TV at the time. I'd like to see the whole concert. I remember Stevie Wonder doing Superstition. At least one Yoko song was used on the show, Sisters, O Sisters. I can't find anything about this show other than the Lennon releases.

Then there is the whole argument about Yoko using the afternoon show for the 1986 release when several of the performances by John were better for the second show that night, like "Come Together" and "Instant Karma" as just two examples.

Hopefully the lighting was better in the evening show. In the '86 release, John looked like the Creature Features TV guy, holding a flashlight off camera, with the light shining up on his face. Real spooky effect.

Nope. I think Sha Na Na did get a little radio time with their take on Blue Moon (dip-a dippity). Didn't they have their own TV show at one point. They really played for the laughs. They were the blueprint for Lenny and Squiggy.

Real spooky effect. Everything about the 1986 release is "off" but it was a dose of John Lennon when we could really use such!

I wonder if STINYC was truly to be given the Super Deluxe Edition treatment like POB and Imagine?
Was a plug pulled on it or was it just another YouTuber's speculation?

Closing in on the 50th anniversary of Mind Games, on October 29. I would love that! I have always said that the 2002 re-mixed Mind Games is the definitive version but alas it was replaced by the 2010 remastered version which is light years better than the vinyl album and first CD release. With the Peter Jackson de-mixing technology, A.I., I bet a great "stripped-down" version of Mind Games could be created as an alternate mix, not official. It is ironic that STINYC, considered a Radical Left album in 1972, has apparently been a victim of our current Cancel Culture. Mind Games would not suffer from that fate I would think although Track 2 might be frowned upon today.

It just didn't have a killer hit like Mind Games. I get the problem with Tight A$. What has changed where it wouldn't fly today?
