I wonder what the difference is between Disc 2 Elemental and Disc 3 Elements?
I look forward to Discs 1 as the sonics on these remixes sound great just from the video and Discs 5 and 6 as I love alternate takes and the Rough Mixes should be awesome as John's arrangements on this album could be cluttered, at least how we heard this album for 30 years until the 2002 re-mixed version and now these newer mixes.
Discs 2, 3 and 4 might be a one time listen for me.
John Lennon never recorded a lot of songs for an album and leaving many in the vault like Prince, Springsteen and maybe even Paul McCartney.
So every Disc focuses on the eleven released songs of Mind Games.

Elemental maybe the basic early (elemental) tracks before overdubs. Elements may be the overdubs. I don't know.
John has a few home demos but not that many. He didn't seem to bring the song to the studio unless he was ready to roll with it.
I bet Paul has enough to release bonus tracks until 3024.

You get a lot more for the $1,350. I'm going with the basic Deluxe Box Set [6 CDs/2 Blu-rays] for just $167.58.
Funny, I'll pay $167 for the box set but I won't spend $13.99 for Disney+ to see Let it Be.

Funny, I'll pay $167 for the box set but I won't spend $13.99 for Disney+ to see Let it Be. I have ordered the "basic" 6 CD SDE and definitely would not buy that $1,300.00 one! I really look forward to Discs 1, 5 and 6 and here is the summary of this Box from JohnLennon.com: "MIND GAMES – The Ultimate Collection Mind Games – The Ultimate Collection offers six different unique listening experiences that are at once immersive and intimate. THE ULTIMATE MIXES (1) put John’s vocals front and center and radically sonically upgrade the sound. THE ELEMENTAL MIXES (2) are a new set created especially for the Mind Games – Ultimate Collection, inhabiting a world between the minimalism of the Elements Mixes and the Ultimate Mixes, stripping the songs back to simpler, lean-back arrangements with John’s voice to the fore, and without drums. THE ELEMENTS MIXES (3) isolate and bring forth certain instruments from the multitrack recordings to highlight playing previously buried in the original mix. THE EVOLUTION DOCUMENTARY (4) is a unique track-by-track audio montage that details the evolution of each song from demo to master recording via demos, rehearsals, out-takes, multitrack exploration, and studio conversations. THE RAW STUDIO MIXES (5) allows listeners to hear the recording that John and The Plastic U.F.Ono Band laid to tape, mixed raw and live without vocals effects, tape delays or reverbs. THE OUT-TAKES (6) allow listeners to hear compelling different takes of each song."

At least we are not getting hit at once with the Mind Games SDE, Rubber Soul SDE and London Town SDE! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/1960644/images/GowCXAvfMToKPZsJREgz.png) That would be expensive! I wonder when Olivia and Dhani will follow-up on the ATMP SDE with perhaps a LITMW SDE? The only cool thing about a Dark Horse SDE might be the inclusion of a 1974 full concert on DVD/Blu-Ray as it is rumored that filmed concerts from that heavily panned tour have been restored. And of course, I just read on Facebook that Ringo CDs like Stop And Smell The Roses and Old Wave are being re-issued with bonus tracks in the "Yellow Submarine" series because they are being re-issued on yellow CDs! ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/1960644/images/JqWzGTtspKbfkMShmEFp.png)

I'm paying Spotify $11.99 a month or whatever it is--the wife pays the bills, I never look at the credit card statements unless she has a question. (And then I rarely know the answer.) I'll listen to whatever it has, and then I'll go to YouTube to see what someone posted on their channel.

Here is the new video for "You Are Here:"
The re-mix is fantastic in my opinion! John's vocal moved forward in the mix and the female back-up singers pushed back and we really hear that beautiful musical backing.
This song was always overlooked by me for the past 40 some years but it is a great song that we are hearing fresh now!

I always like this song. The last three songs were a great ending to Mind Games, I Know (I Know), You Are Here and Meat City.
This sounds GREAT! I hope all three of these last songs sound this good.
This new mix could easily bring Mind Games up as one of my top favorite Lennon albums.
Supposively there are some hidden mystery tracks on the bonus discs.

"I Know (I Know)" is in my Top 5 Solo Lennon songs and in my Top 15 Solo Beatles songs. I hear it as an offering of peace to Paul McCartney what with literal references to Yesterday and Getting Better and responding specifically to "Dear Boy" by admitting, "I know what I was missing, but now my eyes can see." I cannot wait to hear this remixed and then the "Raw" mix of it and hopefully a great studio alternate take. The Boots usually just have John's demo(s) of this song.

Another new video, and I really like the "ultimate mix" to this song, particularly as to John's vocal and the video itself is cool!

Sounds pretty good.
Is that John on the left, shot from a window or something, walking out on the sidewalk? Wow! Crazy. It's like no one is paying him any attention.

My Mind Games SDE Box arrived which is the 6 CD, 2 Blu-Ray version and not the $1,500.00 SSDE version! ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/1960644/images/izqzrRBlMgaKcPDHwhRX.png) I am pumped! This reissue will change a lot of minds on the album Mind Games as the remixes are solid and eliminate a lot of the clutter in John's original arrangements. Also, the vinyl album and then the original CD version were sonically dead, also dampening one's appreciation of the music. The 2002 remix was amazing as it was done by the great Peter Cobbin who was brilliant on Yellow Submarine Songtrack in 1999 where we first heard Beatles tracks in a new light! But the 2002 Mind Games is hard to find and thus expensive. I absolutely love this Raw Mix version of "I Know (I Know)," my second favorite song off the album, second only to the title song.

First review:
With the Mind Games track, I barely hear an extra note here and there. New crisper sound. Tight A$ sounds pretty different. I like it. Aisumasen is improved by the new mix. This was on the Uncut disc. Sounds even better in this album mix, in order, with the other Mind Games songs. It's been a skipper up to now. Some of the droning trudge is mixed completely out. Still going to be skipping One Day at a Time, even though it does sound better. Bring on the Lucie is better. The last verse is still the killer. (No pun intended.) Intuition - John goes 'Granny'. This one should have had the (I'm sorry) subtitle. I would probably have mixed the 'ahs' out a little more on Out the Blue. Only People has always seemed like a guilty pleasure to me. Happy John? All the '70s slang. I think the ending, which sounds a lot looser here, adds a free feeling romp sound and is good lead-in to the last three songs. The last three songs were always my sweet spot. I Know (I Know) sounds great! You Are Here is still beautiful. Meat City.... The rattlely guitar is turned down. The smoothing out/polishing done to the album, suffers Meat City. It's been tamed, to my hearing. At least they kept the "Who is that" and maybe brought it up a bit.

Wow, just wow!
So far I have listened to just Discs 1 The Ultimate Mixes and Disc 5 Raw Studio Mix and they are outstanding! I would agree with the articles that proclaim that the album Mind Games, a hidden gem, has been resurrected!
1. Mind Games: I did not want radical change as I loved this song "as is" since a child and before I was a Beatles/John Lennon fan. But both the new mix and the raw mix bring out John's poignant and powerful lead vocal and really show what a great group of musicians John gathered for this album! I will always go back to the original mix of the title song but these two new versions wonderfully supplement a classic! 2. Tight A$: This is a big winner! This Rocks much harder than in the original mix and John's vocal and the lead guitar riff are crisp and biting! This is great on both Discs 1 and 5! 3. Aisumasen (I’m Sorry): Another huge winner both as to John's vocal and the lead guitar sole! Plus, the reverb or whatever is gone and this sounds more passionate and sincere than ever and again, awesome on both Discs 1 and 5. 4. One Day (At A Time): This is the one and only song that is not improved either on Disc 1 or 5. I am not sure why Sean cut the sax solo at the end on Disc 1. It is there in the Raw Mix. The problem for me lies in the falsetto! That has stayed. 5. Bring On The Lucie (Freeda Peeple): Another winner on Discs 1 and 5! Again, John's vocal is brought more to the front. Powerful! 6. Nutopian International Anthem: Meh. 7. Intuition: This is better on both Discs 1 and 5 than in the original 1973 mix as it is a little less "Lounge Lizardy" but not by much. 8. Out The Blue: Winner. On both Discs we better hear John's stirring vocal and there is much less clutter in the musical backing. A beautiful song that John nearly buried in the original 1973 mix! 9. Only People: For me, another huge winner on both Discs and John's scatting at the end is very cool! Once again, less clutter! 10. I Know (I Know): Simply stunning and that applies to the Disc 1 and Disc 5 versions. This is what I have dreamed of! This is now a certified Lennon Solo classic that John once again almost buried in the 1973 version! 11. You Are Here: Another huge winner. The production simplified thus bringing out the beauty of this song that I had taken for granted for decades! 12. Meat City: Winner, and again benefits from John's vocal brought forward. I believe the Raw Mix version from Disc 5 Rocks hardest but even Disc 1's new mix is good.
Many of us (fans and music writers) sound like a broken record but Minds Games suffered in 1973 coming on the heels of John and Yoko's polarizing STINYC album, John's heavy handed production as he took the production reigns for the first time by himself and his songs were not really contemporary to 1973's Pop music trends.
But in hindsight, with better production and much distance from STINYC, Mind Games is a very strong album and a wonderful ambassador for the Solo music of John Lennon!
I give full props to Sean Ono Lennon for resurrecting Mind Games!
