On the old board I started a thread to talk about summer concerts we might be going to this year. Here's one that popped up. Santa Monica has a free concert series and on August 21st Peter and Gordon AND Gerry and the Pacemakers will be playing. I'm sure only Gerry Marsden will be there from the old band, though. The Peter and Gordon show is an add on of a currently working tour, but the Gerry and Pacemakers portion sounds like a completely one off show, not sure. Since it's free I just might go. Could be sad, but hey, it's free and at the beach. As more proof that I'm sometimes slow on the uptake, it took me a bit to see how the term "pacemakers" changed from 1962 to 2008. Very appropriate for this concert. Also, if you promise not to laugh and not count it against me, I'll be going down to San Diego next week to see Journey , Heart, and Cheap Trick. Why? Free tickets AND I'm on vacation - so I can.

Not much happening in the Northeast Kingdom. Elton John will probably be the best thing in the area this summer...but he sold out in four hours, so we missed out. I'll have to be satisfied with what I call "The Heaven & Hell" tour which now graces my music room. (This is what people with way too much time on their hands do up here.) For those of you who have a copy of the "Not the Beatles" artwork, the area just below the WA poster and above the glass case has been re-worked. I had a friend who sews make a red velvet stage curtain all the way across and built in some stage lighting and a popsicle stick wooden floor. With this, I have finally displayed the Rock-n-Roll figures I have been collecting. The "band" as they now appear on stage is as follows;
Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Johnny Cash, Curt Cobain, Jimi Page, Gerry Garcia, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Joey Ramone, Johnny Rotten, Angus Young and the entire Kiss band. Now THAT is a concert !
If you've never seen the figures, they are about 6" tall and all are quite detailed. They come with mikes, guitars, amps (snakes & bats...) and you can see them at either the Spawn or Neca web-sites (as you all know I am incapable of up-loading...well... anything!) Both companies are making them in the same scale. I still need to acquire the John Lennon (though his pose looks a bit bored), Freddie Mercury & Slash. It looks as if I'll just have to be satisfied gazing at this stage and playing their music "live" in my music room this summer.

I chose this stress-free environment after many years of concerts and "go,go,go". It is a wonderful thing to really have spare time. As for your final suggestion; you have obviously never had the pleasure of meeting my wife. With your porn you can only imagine something so voluptuous and intelligent, all in a 5'2" 100 lb package! Believe me...I keep plenty busy.

Cosmos, as always, is a gentleman and I wish him and his lovely wife well.

Recent concerts:
Art Garfunkel B52's Ace Frehley 1964 The Tribute Led Head (an inferior Led Zeppelin tribute band) The Edgar Winter Group The Pete Best Band Robert Plant / Alison Krauss Opeth / Dream Theater
Coming Up: B.B. King (I'll probably be too broke for this one) Southern Culture On The Skids Boston / Styx Grand Funk
I'm definitely going to the SCOTS show, we'll see about the others. The local civic center has been hinting about three more shows, apparently haven't signed contracts yet, so we'll see if it's anything that interests me. (They lean toward achey-breaky shows that bore me silly, so I'm not getting my hopes up yet.)
