I agree Deb!
I dutifully ordered this, but we need the PMAC SDEs of London Town and Back To The Egg!
I am still very underwhelmed by BOTR Underdubbed!
Come on Macca, give us something tasty!

One Wing Flapping is something I would have loved in the late 1970's, entire 1980's and through most, but not all, of the 1990's as much as I love the regular Beatles' albums!
In those days, this was my favorite Solo Paul Era.
But a weird thing happened to me, I took what became known as The JSD Wings Wild Life Challenge where I discovered that album for the very first time in the late 1990's even though I owned it since the late 1970's.
I let Carr & Tyler from their book The Beatles: An Illustrated Record; Nicholas Schaffner in his book The Beatles Forever and vectisfabber, no book but from the Isle of Wight, bully me into believing WWW and all early Solo Macca sucked!
I was already questioning that conventional wisdom (CW) because Neil Young and I loved McCartney and I loved Ram.
Admittedly, Red Rose Speedway was still only 1/2 of a great album to me (I loved Side 1 from first listen in 1978) but the aforementioned persons had convinced me that Wings Wild Life was shit!
I grabbed the early 1990's CD re-issue of WWW one sunny weekend day and hit the back country roads of central Indiana and listened carefully to WWW for the first time ever.
Like Paul sings in "A Day In The Life," "I went into a dream!"
From there, I went deep into RRS and came to love Side 2. The pieces were now in place for a revolutionary theory!
It was then I authored the now famous and infamous The JSD Postulate! It has been co-opted, nay ripped off, by subsequent writers who frankly do not give me credit and Paul's early Solo career has been rehabilitated!
So back to One Wing Flapping, this Era is now my least favorite Solo Paul Era but this album should still be fascinating!

Should be delivered Monday!
I might have to make a new Wings playlist.
I'll call it Post Postulate.

Should be delivered Monday! I might have to make a new Wings playlist. I'll call it Post Postulate. That would be a great name for that playlist. This project ushered in Paul's most commercially successful period. Amazon says my One Wing Flapping is being delivered today. I will wear all black while listening to it, in mourning. Of course, as a kid this BOTR/V&M/WSOS/WOA/LT Era thrilled me as I paid little heed to the first four Macca Solo albums because I listened to Carr & Tyler and other writers who dissed early Solo Macca.

I think this is what is called the studio version. I don't think I've seen this video before. Really Rocking!

Geoff Britton is a great drummer! Too bad he and Jimmy hated each other.
Geoff kind of looks like what a young adult James McCartney would look like.

Favorite tracks:
One Hand Clapping - could be my favorite on the release. Very Venus and Mars! Soily - This is the fabled studio version! Live and Let Die - More guitar in the intro. Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five - Wasn't the old video just Paul on his piano, finishing with the studio version? This is different. Let Me Roll It - I'd gotten tired of the version on Band on the Run. This adds a little life to it. Junior's Farm - Still rockin'! Go Now - There had to be a Wings studio version. Great job. I like it! Hi Hi Hi - combo of the studio and the live versions.

My favorite is "Baby Face." That should have been placed on Venus And Mars. Oh! You are such a kidder! Busted! I like almost all of this double CD release! Geoff Britton is really good on this collection! I agree with all of your selections Deb and I even like the echo-drenched "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Band On The Run." It was fun to hear "Sally G" although the B-Side version is much better.

I'm real familiar with the Maybe I'm Amazed version. I can't remember Bad on the Run. I'll have to give it another listen. Sally should had been on my list!

I haven't listened to One Bird Crapping yet, i don't have the cd but it's available on youtube, all tracks.
I'm still trying to get myself in the mood for a disc that was recorded and then rejected by Macca back in 74.

Paul wonders, "Do I release One Hand, a album of remakes or Venus and Mars, all new tracks?"

I have been pretty busy trying to get those damn hidden tracks to play on my two different versions of Mind Games 2024 so I have kind of lost sight of One Wing Flapping/One Bird Crapping but I have certainly enjoyed it more than I thought when the news first broke on it.
I like the Rockers most.

Now if Sean would offer up the MG hidden tracks for sale on streaming services, I could buy them yet again but this time actually hear them!

That's a reasonable theory, better than me thinking Paul decided to keep it in the can for the day when he needed product to keep MPL's cashflow ticking over.

It captures Paul McCartney getting ready to take on the world in 1975-1976 with another major album release and then a world tour. Macca is gearing up!

This isn't new news, but the film One Hand Clapping will have a limited cinema release this September. www.paulmccartney.com/news/paul-mccartney-and-wings-one-hand-clapping-is-coming-to-cinemas-worldwideThere will be a new introduction recently filmed of Paul and other bonus material not shown on the original film finished in 1975 but not released commercially until added as a part of the bonus material on a DVD to the 2010 PMAC Deluxe Box for Band On The Run. I just happened to watch that last night for the first time since perhaps 2010 and the film quality is really bad for this 2010 release. But the film itself is okay although as with too many Beatles' related films, there are too many voice-overs during the actual songs when the viewer wants to focus on and savor a still young Paul McCartney (Autumn 1974) who is singing these songs just as he did on the records. Geoff Britton appears to be a rock-solid drummer but it seems clear by his demeanor why he did not last long in Wings as his personality seemed to be rather abrasive. There is a scene where Linda McCartney, of all band members, tells him in front of the band during a playback that he is "off" on a drum part. Not a good thing to be told by Linda McCartney that you screwed up a drumming bit!

Anyone here going to see this film in the theatre?
I would have to drive 70 miles one-way so......no for me.

It's playing a couple of days at the Cinemark Tinseltown, about 10 miles away. 7 pm one day. 2 pm the other. I'm tempted.
If it were down the street at the AMC, I'd have to go. It be easier to pop in and hit those times.
