Happy birthday, Ringo! For the "sickly Beatle," you are going to be dancing on all of our graves! ;D
Um, I was on a business call at noon local time today so I was not able to make a peace sign and shout, "Peace and love!" I was considering making a one finger handsign to my telephone handset because of the obnoxious attorney on the other end but Rings would have disapproved.
Let's hope that Ringo's dedication to love and peace equates to him being much nicer to sincere fans who approach him on the street in a respectful fashion. Then I'll know that Ringo is sincere in this thing.

Happy Birthday Ringo! ;D And to my Mom, also. She too, was born on July 7th. In our house, growing up, we all knew when Ringo's birthday was!

Ringo Starr celebrates 68th birthday in Chicago with calls for peace and love
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
CHICAGO - Ringo Starr celebrated his 68th birthday in Chicago giving out messages of peace and love, along with dessert.
Fans surrounded the former Beatles drummer Monday as he waited for the clock to strike noon at the Hard Rock Hotel. Then he flashed peace signs with both hands in the air and yelled, "Twelve o'clock - peace and love!" The crowd of about 300 sang "Happy Birthday" to Starr, who passed out white-iced cupcakes with his wife Barbara Bach.
Starr and his band play a concert in Chicago on Sunday.

Happy B-Day Ringo!! Did anyone see him on Larry King? He looks great and Yoko called in to wish him a Happy Birthday. Very cool indeed!! Watching Larry King is like trying to focus on the road without sneaking a peak at the road kill that’s splattered all over the highway. If I’m channel surfing and I happen to see Larry on the screen, chances are I’ll tune in just to see how mind-numbingly inane he’ll be. After watching last night’s performance I can only conclude that Larry’s in the prime of his senility. There is no rhyme or reason to anything he asks and what’s worse, he doesn’t listen. It’s like he has a list of twenty questions and he has to ask all of them regardless of how the individual responds. I hate to admit this but as much as I can’t stand the guy I have developed a perverse fascination with him and am currently searching for a self-help group that can rid me of this addiction. If you happened to miss the interview with Ringo I’ll give you a quick run down of some of the more penetrating questions. First Larry fired off this gem, “How did you get to be a Beatle”? And then there was “Why do you perform”? And then against all odds Larry pulled this beauty out of the hat, “What was it like to be a Beatle”? Original stuff, this. The best part of the interview came at the very end. Larry had been harping about Ringo’s age all night and he asked “So what will you be doing next year for your 69th birthday”? Ringo replied “I won’t be talking to you…cripes; you’ve been going on about my age all night. How old are you Larry - 102”? Ringo’s short, sharp comeback sent Larry reeling to the canvas and provided the only highlight of the night.

Hope he didn't ask him any stupid questions! Like Larry asking Ringo why he doesn't work more with Paul? I could imagine Larry asking Ringo how he felt when he learned George was shagging Maureen! I missed it too. Was there any substantive news R66 from Ringo or was it just about his birthday?

At one time Larry King was a very good interviewer but in recent years he's been embarrassing himself more and more on a regular basis. I used to enjoy his show but now it's really hard to watch him. I wonder how much longer CNN is going to let him go on. Larry's 74 years old, it's time to hang it up.

Hey JSD, Actually he did ask Ringo if he would be working with Macca! Ringo said that they play on each others records(it's been awhile Rings) but that there are no plans in the dirrect future but who knows? Ringo also did a bit of damage control over the Liverpool remark that had quite a few fuming a short while back. Larry went on to decribe Liverpool 8(the CD not just the song) as the most personal thing Ringo has done(and a very short clip of the video played in the backround). A few celebrities called in to wish Ringo a Happy Birthady(he seemed happy that Christina Agulera called)! No news on any upcoming releases but the interview was much longer than I thought it would be. Nice to see Ringo and the interview wasn't as inane as Larry can be. Well the Beatles questions were. See above.

I wonder how much longer CNN is going to let him go on. Larry's 74 years old, it's time to hang it up. I believe they've been grooming, of all people, Ryan Seacrest to take over his show. I think he's a horrible choice. I have a copy of the Larry King Live DVD set. It's a compilation of clips from over 25 years of the show. It's pretty watchable with some nice clips in there, including a couple of Paul and Ringo. King, however, is past his prime.
