I've seen a discussion on a Paul list -- and it's been mentioned here -- about whether Paul is right or wrong to take this trip. So here's a poll

I voted yes. Paul should do what he wants to do, he's earned that right.
My only concern is Paul's safety. The United States can be a dangerous place to be for someone well know like McCartney. For the ordinary person like me, I was born and raised in the United States, I'm used to dealing with it day in, day out. Someone like Paul McCartney, not so much. I hope he's traveling with some form of security

I voted "Only if he comes to my house."
John Lennon traveled across country in a station wagon with May Pang way back when and stayed under the radar. Bob Dylan can always travel and stay under the radar. I saw on YouTube a video where people met Dylan on the road awhile back but Dylan wasn't promoting it, just gracious to fans. It seems that everyone is out looking for Paul on this trip.
I think Paul can travel wherever he wants. He can have a relationship with whoever he wants but all this talk of asking Stella her opinion of marriage and Paul acting all giddy painfully reminds me of his early days with Heather. Can we take another Macca marriage and divorce?
I hope I am wrong and Paul is just having fun with a younger woman.

I really have no opinion on weather or not he SHOULD take this trip. It's up to him.

I say yes because he did.
John, another swipe at Paul with the Dylan story. Again, how is Paul promoting this trip? Seems that fans and the media are the promoters.
We can we stand another marriage and divorce? Jesus, I don't know. Can we live any more vicariously?

Paul can take a road trip anytime, anywhere he wants.Safety should be a concern though.....
I wonder if he has already surpassed root 66 on this trip....

If he does get married and divorced again then i want to see better pictures than the ones i saw of Heather.....

We can we stand another marriage and divorce? Jesus, I don't know. Can we live any more vicariously? Good question, Jim. Seems to me that the fans and media have never been as intensely interested, possessive, and judgemental about Dylan's personal life and movements as they have always been about Beatle Paul. Just because The News of the World reports that Paul is thinking marriage again, doesn't make it a fact. Most of us have enough to worry about negotiating our own complex family relationships, to decide vicariously what McCartney ought to be doing with his personal affairs. It's unfair to blame Paul because fans and the media can't respect reasonable boundries. Steps off soapbox and voted YES.

Sure, why not? I think he's probably safer out there in "flyover" land than he may be when he's touring. Do you think he'll next run for president? JCV

If I were Paul, I would be VERY scared to try this again, so soon. But then you have to take into account that Paul is very much into marriage and family. It's something he needs in his life very much.

Hey, I totally respect and like you two and am getting your drifts but be careful about warning me or anyone else here about living "vicariously" through the Fabs because this is a Message Board for especially rabid Beatle' fans, and we all probably know more about these four guys than we should!

He's just having fun. Leave the boy alone. (singing) "Heeeeee... is having... FUN" ("fun is the one thing that money can't buy...") Funny, but I always heard it couldn't buy love, either... NP: Def Leppard, "Rocket" (The Lunar Mix), Hysteria (deluxe edition)

I think money can buy fun a lot more readily than it can buy love (and I mean REAL love, not just a quick roll in the hay!). Scousette, was I being too cynical back there? Cynicism seems to run rampant around here, and I think I was subconsciously trying to fit in... NP: MystiQuintet, "Eleanor Rigby," Beatles Regrooved (strangest remake of this song I've ever heard)
