The main site has a link to an article from San Diego about Ringo's stop there. The writer does a good job pointing out the members of previous All-Starr bands.
I did wonder though...he says Gary Wright was a childhood friend of George Harrison. Anyone hear of this before? I know they co-write some songs and performed together. For example, Wright was heavily involved in the 1979 George Harrison LP. Again, it leads me to an oft-asked question: why no role for Gary Wright at the Concert for George?

Gary Wright grew up in New Jersey, so he couldn't have been a childhood friend of George's.
I don't know why he wouldn't have been part of the Concert for George.

I read the article again...and surely he must have misunderstood some joke Gary Wright made about knowing George so long ago or "when we were just kids." Either that or the writer simply relied on some bad information.

Harrison played back-up to Gary Wright on Dick Cavett in 1971. George was a "child" of 28.

Here is an clip from the interview:
DICK CAVETT: I guess everyone knows by now that you're Gary Wright. GEORGE: Right. DICK CAVETT: Where do you know Gary Wright and this group from? GEORGE: From England. He used to be in a band called Spooky Tooth and I met him during my album, All Things Must Pass. He came and played piano on the whole album, so I returned the favour tonight. DICK CAVETT: That's very nice. Now how many in the audience knew that George was in the group up there? How many didn't know? GEORGE: I'm not in the group; just for now.
