I was being sarcastic about the plagerized part.
I would have to listen to Yoko's song to see what influences there were.
One other thing to mention here- is that if you listen to all of the Lennon demos from 1977 on-they all have fragmentations, phrases and melody snatches between them. He was borrowing from himself quite a bit. I can't think of any specifically here- but there were quite a few.

OldFred and RTP raise good points, the people putting together Glen Campbell's album would have gotten the songwriting credits from the publishing company. G.C.'s album is also on Capitol Records which knows a thing or two about John and Yoko as their albums are on that label.
Is there an "official" publishing website where the legal songwriting credits are listed for all songs? Some international copyright website? I Googled Lenono Publishing with no luck. So far my internet research has led me on a wild goose chase.
I think it important to know if Yoko is now getting added to the songwriting credits of John's solo material. The mystery remains.

Believe me, it was carefully orchestrated. It was not a random mistake. Yoko always pays attention to the smallest details. If she pays attention to the smallest details, I think her agenda is failing miserably. She missed getting the GPAC co-write credit on releases in 1997 (Legend), 1998 (The John Lennon Anthology), 1999 (Imagine cd-single), 2005 (Working Class Hero; Peace, Love & Truth), 2006 (The US vs. John Lennon) & 2007 (Instant Karma: Campaign to Save Darfur). But look!! She successfully got it on a long-forgotten stand-alone single remake back in 1991!!! And now she's got another co-write credit on a Glen Campbell disc, which everyone has on their Christmas lists this year! Her agenda IS becoming clear!

For $1.99 today, I picked up a copy of Yoko's most recent remix album (Open Your Box). I remembered this thread and how some were asserting that not only did Yoko drop Paul's co-write credit from GPAC, but that she also had an agenda to list her as co-author...
I rebutted that 2nd point earlier (post #32), but it's worth adding that on this, her most recent cd release, the song is credited to "Lennon" once again, and that she's not trying to insert her name as a co-author.

Maybe Paul actually wrote it?

I rate it quite highly. Can bring both tears and smiles. John could do some nice things with basically just his piano and voice.

Anybody care to comment on how Yoko's so-called "agenda" re:changing composer credits managed to get McCartney's new live release to list the composer for Give Peace A Chance as "John Lennon" (only)? ;-)

I am not sure how John wanted it to turn out ie straight piano with an orchestra or abit of a power ballad but the version on the tribute album Working Class Hero by Mary Chapin Carpenter shows how much potential the song has.

Maybe Paul can finally do his own version for Nancy? Having just heard his new song-which I actually think is pretty good-and borrows some of John's "piano style"- he could really do a nice job with this.
